This henna mixture did not color my hair well. I was disappointed with this product.

but I still love Nupur, much better

Okay, but I still love Nupur, much better, color release is faster with Nupur, and easier to watch out, and stays on longer!
Less hair fallout!

This henna product arrived earlier than expected and in good condition. I have entered my 60's with a fear of going bald. I have always had a small bald spot on my crown with moderate hair fall-out, but it became more noticeable in my late 50's. Both parents actually had balding, so I figure I'm pretty much doomed. Nevertheless, I'd like to minimize the likelihood. With a lot of grey hair (and some white) as a top layer and around my face and everything else ink black, I wasn't sure about using henna as a preventive measure. As a dark-skinned Asian American, one can well imagine the possibilities. However, I knew I didn't have patience to go the henna-indigo route. The actual mixing and applying goes easily. I used lemon juice as the acidic. The smell is reminiscent of tea leaves, which I personally do not mind, but it might bother some. Having purchased two bags, I had a lot left over after applying to chin-length hair. That turned out to be a good thing. My first try (six hours set time) resulted in a light auburn or an orange-y color on the grey/white hair, but an auburn caste on the black - scary looking, really. The second time (with henna you can re-apply quickly with no ill effects) I went for 12 hours. The result is much more livable with my complexion and nationality, a medium rust-color closer to the auburn caste on the rest of my head, and I still had leftovers, which came in handy. It appears that with my body chemistry and the amount of grey/white hairs I have to do the roots every two weeks. It also did not work for my eyebrows, which are disappearing the more grey hairs grow in. At first I thought about trying another brand, but after researching and discovering that this is normal for some people, the price for Baba Ramdev works for me. There has been less fall-out, my hair looks thicker and healthier, and my scalp does not flake or itch. So I feel the time invested in using henna is worth it.
