I used this to drill a horizontal hole (tunnel) 4'6" long, with the help of the XtremepowerUS extensions, with ease! I hit some rocks and roots, but, with some patience and maneuvering, was able to get around them. It Is a powerful drill and was worth every penny! I not only saved an incredible amount of time, but I do not even know if I could have dug the holes with a regular SDS MAX concrete drill. It has some kick to it -- but because I was drilling horizontally, it mainly just kicked against the dirt ground. This tool has already paid for itself. Thank you, Hiltex!

I put 12 holes in the clay soil using the additional 6" bit and it worked pretty good. The only trouble you may run into is if you hit a large rock or are working with saturated soil. The easy of an electric auger is awesome. Just plug it in and go. If your like me I tend to have a couple of 100' extention cords on the job site so electric is the way to go do to the extremely low maintenance and instant operation. No messing with tuning up the gas motor 1st just to use it for a additional hole or two.

just arrived an hour ago......dug an 18 to 24 inch hole in less than 30 seconds.....even went thru some tree roots...(better have a good grip)
