The cooling effect is life

I get extremely painful dry scalp during the harsh summer and winter months and until now have never found anything that can help me. I've tried other crap and even got a prescription from my doctor for something that just stunk. This works. The moment I put it on I could feel the calming and cooling effect and I just stood there in my shower for 5 minutes feeling the itching pain cool down. This works. I've been using this for almost 2 weeks now, every day and i have barely felt my scalp itchy. The key word is the calming effect because oh boy is that worth it. I wish these came in a larger size because I'd buy it. This is the only shampoo and conditioner i will use to treat my severe dry scalp. I highly recommend it.
It got so bad I wasn't even able to run my fingers through ...

After making the decision to use natural products this year, I went online and bought a product from another natural company. After months of giving this a try, my hair was left feeling dry and greasy. It got so bad I wasn't even able to run my fingers through it. My scalp also started to flake over time - an issue I had never had to deal with in the past. After about 4 months, I had enough and decided to change up products. I was hesitant to continue on in my quest of natural hair care products but found this shampoo/conditioner. I read some reviews and decided to try it out. Wow did it do wonders in repairing the condition of my hair. Just in the first use, I was able to brush my hair out with no issues. It was a night and day difference as now my hair felt shinier and healthier. Thankfully as a result of using this, I no longer feel the need to put my hair in a bun every time I leave the house.
I wish i had started here first

I was suffering from something, my scalp was itching to the point that one day I thought I had scratched a sore in my scalp. I don't know what was causing the itching, I thought it might have been my relaxer, and it had never affected me that way before, so I began my trek in finding relief that wasn't prescription based. I tried the Paul Mitchell tea tree shampoo and conditioner and while my scalp was clean, it still itched, so I bought roughly about $330 of various shampoos and conditioners, if it didn't work, I donated to friends, co-workers, any body who was wanting to try something different. I then googled for a shampoo that had the HIGHEST concentration of Tea Tree Oil, and Nature's Gate, came up, so since I had bought everything else, why not give this a try - Let me say I will never need another shampoo. After the first 2 shampoos, the itching finally stopped. I was losing tons of hair and was near balding in the top of my scalp and on the edges. I didn't know what to do, but I made an apt with my dermatologist and she gave her ok. I won't look back, I've stopped using hair dye and I think that has helped, but my scalp is soothed, NO MORE ITCHING and my hair is getting thicker instead of thinner, I'm just so grateful this is working, so i'll use this shampoo from now on. Fifteen stars, and worth every penny.
GAME CHANGER!

This has been a total game changer for me! I was searching Amazon for something to help with my dry, flaky scalp. This has always been a problem for me but winter is soooo bad. I had to stop wearing black shirts after a few embarrassing situations at work.
Here is the down low: Day 1--I thought I made a huge mistake. The shampoo is not lilke salon shampoo at all. When its in your hair, you feel like you have dreadlocks its so tangled. The conditioner is a must. It smoothed everything out. I then dried my hair and it looked horrible. It was weighted down and greasy looking. I made a commitment so I tried again Day 2. Similar result but definitely a little less flakes on my shoulders and less itch. Day 5 was the turn the corner for me. My hair was so soft and shiny I couldn't believe it. My husband even commented on the shine when I walked in to the room! Two weeks in I decided to take the plunge and wear black to work. Barely a tiny noticeable flake in sight. The itch on my scalp is not gone, but much improved.
Here is my routine: Wet hair, rub the shampoo in with the pads of my fingers especially around the edges--my worst spot. Let sit for about 2 minutes. Rinse--hair is tangled. Repeat to really rub in to scalp and rinse right away. Leave conditioner in for a minute or two while I finish my shower. Comb through the tangle and do not use any additional products. I dry on the medium heat setting and then finish with cold. I have no static, fly aways and zero flakes on my back or shoulder. Totally in love.
Not for sensitive/breakout prone skin
ToryJama✓ Verified PurchaseJanuary 1, 2017
Smells great, but it's definitely not for sensitive skin. I tried to use it, but found that I was severely breaking out around my hairline, back and side of my neck. Even went through a spell where inside my ear was getting infected. That was not fun. I'm not saying that this is bad for everyone, I'm just recommending to those with sensitive skin and prone to breakouts, this is not a good product for you. One of the Nature's Gate products I can use, is the Awapuhi conditioner, which is sulfate free. I have not had any breakout with that particular product.
