Great product
5 stars•November 29, 2017
Price dropped 5 bucks since I purchased. Does the job picking up my SS pins used for tumbling. When I say, picking up, I mean the stragglers, as I use Franklen's dry tumble system that normally separates the dry media from the brass into a bucket and that does a fantastic job getting the pins separated after the tumble. Then, I put the wet pins on an old cookie sheet, unto my wood stove briefly to dry them out, and they are as good as new. The magnet catches any that may try to escape unto the floor.
You need this, its not optional!

Does its job well, but should come included with the tumbler as a kit. Its a absolutely necessary item and having to purchase it separate is kind of silly. After someone is knee deep in a mess and have lost half their pins, they realize they should have purchased the magnet. Come on Frankford, just put it in the tumbler and charge the few extra bucks, save everyone the headache of believing they can do without. I did not knock it for quality, it functions as advertised.
Good for what it is

Good for what it is. It picks up the steel pin media and I can release it to where I need it. I have two problems with it that lead me to take off one star
- The magnet should be a bit stronger to pick up more media.
- The cylinder should be sealed so water cannot get into it. part of this thing looks to be steel and I am concerned that over time about rust. time will tell

Works great as it is a simple product that does the job.

Works great. Simple product. I only need this for picking up stray pieces of SS media. When cleaning my brass I dump the contents of the tumbler into the FA Quick-n-EZ Rotary Seperator and give it a few good spins. 99% of the pins fall into the 5 gallon bucket with the water. I then pour the 5 gallon bucket into another 5 gallon bucket I have attached a painters filter to and the pins are captured by the filter. Then just hang the filter bag to dry overnight and put the media into a plastic storage container I have for them. Magnet is rarely used except to pick up the few pins that end up missed by the separator and end up on the towel I have poured the brass onto. No need to submerge the magnet.
A must have for a wet tumbler

I utilize this product to collect the stainless steel pins after I finish wet tumbling my brass. There is always a pin stuck inside a case, along the walls of my drainage pan, ect. The transfer magnet has a large surface area to pick up as many pins as possible. The only problem I noticed is if you decide to collect your pins wet/underwater, the magnet can be filled with water. I don't know if the product is liable to rust, but it could be a problem.
