Stretches and binds to itself.
DickGordonCanJanuary 14, 2018
Stuff is amazing. I used it for three things so far. I used it to fix a leaking RV sewer hose that had two holes in the vinyl. Worked like magic. I used to to cover where I connected two parts together on my 30 amp RV land line. The connection point is normally not outside but when it is the electric tape was exposed to rain and such. I put this stuff over as a second waterproof layer and it was perfect. I used it to wrap a connection on the underside of my truck. If you pull it tight and make sure the end is in contact with only a layer of the stuff below it immediately bonds and stays tight, Amazing.I also used it to fix a leak in a garden hose. It worked quite well but it is not 100% with leaks under pressure. Some water does seem out under the tape so it seems it won't work completely on water under pressure but is fine for a garden hose only used occasionally.
Major leak under sink fixed
Sweet and SaltyJanuary 5, 2018
I just had a major leak under the sink - the pipes had separated and couldn't be easily re- connected, need replacement. It happened just before Christmas and there was no way to get a plumber in a hurry. I used a narrower version of this tape in the past to fix a leaking water hose so I re-ordered it some time ago, accidentally in a wider version. This awesome tape bridged a ½ inch gap between metal pipes and not a drop is in a pot underneath. There was a tiny leak at first, then it got sealed completely. I couldn't believe it, but it worked. 10 days later it still holds why the plumber is taking his time back to town and into my place.
What's not to like???

What? A non-gluey tape that fuses to itself over time instead of drying out, flaking off and leaving a crusty residue where the repair has failed? What's not to like about that? Also lovely for winding around handles -- it adds grip to hand tools (and is less messy than rubber dippy stuff) and on the handles of cast-iron pots and pans, it's a built-in potholder!
Good stuff, stretch the heck out of it as applying and you will get a nice finished product.

Had the grey water PVC pipe on my camper crack at the joint. This is a non pressurized line. Was not looking forward to breaking out the hack saw, and them piecing together the new line. Like every other "honey do" project what seems like a 1 or 2 hour job would have turned into a 4-5 hour job with 3-4 trips back and forth to Home Depot.

1st I mixed some epoxy (the 2 part stuff) and coated the cracked joint and bit of surrounding area. Let this harden and then applied this tape. The thing that helped me was to cut the strip (not too long) and then counter roll the tape, then start wrapping (TIGHT!) and as you are wrapping the clear plastic rolls off. Kinda hard to conceptualize in writing but once you are sitting in front of your project you will see what I mean.

Bottom line, it appears to me this stuff is KILLER and saved me hours and hours of re-piping on my RV.
Great wrapping tape

Really works. It does stick to itself. That is why it is effective and why it can be hard to apply is awkward locations.
The secret to stretch the tape as you wind around the object. It must be stretched to work.
I applied it to a wet water pipe (no water pressure) and it self-welded and stopped the leak with a double wrap. A single might have done it if I could have done a smooth wrap the first time. But it was an awkward location. Do wait 24 hours to ensure it stays in one mass.
