Great shoe for protecting bandaged feet without extra pressure, but may not be easy to adjust due to soft plastic.

I bought two of these (Small) to wear over bandages for lymphedema - they are roomy enough for my foot + padding + bandages, but adjustable enough that they stay on when I just have a sock. (I normally wear a women's size 7 or 7.5.). Because the shoe is so open, it hasn't caused any pressure issues on my feet, which has been a problem with other shoes. There is a tread pattern on the bottom so the shoe does get some traction, (I have not put these through any strenuous activity, though.) I've been wearing these daily for about a month, and found that they were a great solution for me.
When sizing, it's important to remember that these are designed to go over a cast or bandages, so they are very roomy by design - and there is no "left" or "right", so they are pretty much the same width along the foot, so they can accommodate either foot shape. There are other sites that list measurements, and other commenters have also noted these - the Small fits up to a 10" long foot (the shoe itself is a bit longer), 4" wide.
There is an X-Small size available, but if the measurements from other sellers online are correct, the 9" length and 3.5" width would be a bit too small for me - especially if I had anything bulky on my feet. (It looks to me like each size is 1" larger, 0.5" wider than the one smaller - but I can't confirm as I only own the Small size.) For those concerned with sizing, it appears that the manufacturer (Darco) is making a newer model that includes actual length measurements - but that shoe is a different design than this one, so there's no way to know if those sizes will apply to this.
I kept my rating to four stars, though, because the "adjustable" stops that hold the elastic in place (these are light grey on the model of the shoe that I purchased) are made of very soft plastic... it is very easy to strip out the plus-shaped holes on the inner part of these stops (this is the part that unscrews to loosen the grip on the elastic - you can use a large Phillips head screwdriver to loosen and tighten, as long as the holes aren't stripped). On the second pair I bought, all six of these had been overtightened and the holes stripped completely - I needed two sets of pliers and some elbow grease to convince these to loosen their grip and let me adjust the length of the elastics.

Really bad product design

The elastic laces are not sufficiently adjustable to keep the show on my foot. I'm going to throw it away as I don't want to pay the price of the shoe in shipping it back to Amazon.
Even if you try to unscrew the plastic plugs into which the laces are attached, you can't win. The plastic is so soft that some of them can't be removed to adjust the end of the lace.
Really bad product design.

As far as comfort it was great for working on your feet for 9 hour shifts

Runs very big my shoe size is 11 and had to get a medium and it was still a little big. Also no instructions on how to adjust the bands. Use a philips head to loosen the tabs on the inside and then pull the bands to fit, but be careful not to loosen it to much it will fall out. As far as comfort it was great for working on your feet for 9 hour shifts.
Good solution.

My doctor fitted me with a walking boot as I recover from Achilles surgery. I am in this boot for 3 months. I wanted something to protect the bottom of the boot when I went out to do yard work, etc. This shoe works perfectly. I was fitted with a size Medium (Mens) size boot. It took me two tries to get the correct size Darco Body Armor Case Shoe. Ultimately I had to get a size X-Large. Mostly, it is the width of the walking boot that wouldn't fit in the size Large Darco shoe. One note: there is a bungee cord adaptor that helps you tighten the Darco shoe around your ankle, but it doesn't help tighten the two bungees across the front of the foot. I had to find out how to tighten those from another user-the instructions are not provided by Darco (I deducted 1-start for this). Where the bungee attaches to the shoe, on the inside of the fastener there are slots in the fastener that fit a Phillips screwdriver. Loosen the connector, pull the bungee to the correct tension, then retighten the fastener. By the way, this shoe seems to be of good quality materials, I will certainly expect it to last 3 months, if someone else has to wear it daily then expect it to wear out in 6 months.
Perfect! So glad I got it to protect big toe

We had plans to go to a theme park over a long weekend. I hurt my big toe the week before we were due to leave and was paranoid about it getting stepped on. I looked extensively for something that would offer some protection for my big toe, and the best thing I saw was the Darco Body Armor Cast Shoe. After reading the reviews, I was really worried about getting the size wrong because I didn't have time to wait for a new size. I usually wear a 6.5-7 shoe and was afraid the small would be too large.
It arrived just in time and definitely looked big. Since I didn't have a cast on, it would've been about 1.5 inches too long. However, once I strapped on my Teva-looking sandals and slipped it into the cast shoe, it was perfect! I jiggered the elastic on the cast shoe so it was tight around my sandal'd foot and was able to walk around on it with no issues at all. It definitely helped protect my toe from the crowds and very comfortable.
