Back in the 70s, Adele Davis promoted brewer's yeast in her books. I used to use Schiff's brand of brewer's yeast. I don't think that exists anymore. It tasted really nasty and i hardly used it because of the taste, but it had the most nutrients of any of the many types there were back then. This to me is sort of nutty and I don't want to gag after I drink a heaping tablespoon of it in a small amount of water. Actually I started adding it to my unflavored powdered magnesium (Calm brand) to make it easier to get down.

you can actually take a pinch and eat it without going "ewww." Most others (especially powders) make me gag. With this one;...you won't be sorry.

Initially, I bought these Brewer's Yeast Flakes to try out a dog treat recipe and they turned out to be absolutely perfect for that. I tasted these flakes pure from a spoon and loved the flavor but of course without liquid straight from the spoon is a bit dry. I have already reordered the product because I have used it so much that I emptied the tub quite fast. I have always liked the taste of brewer's yeast and besides for batches of special treats for my furry kids, which we eat, too btw, I use these flakes in yogurt, sprinkled over foods, and in liquids/beverages.
There is no doubt in my mind that over time one will see the positive effects of brewer's yeast in their hair and skin. Of course, as with all products - natural or chemical - people have different results over different time frames. I don't expect miracles but know the effect of b.y. from previous years of taking it in pill form. I know that the second order will not be my last one if the quality is persistent.

Update 22 Dec 2017: I have been making the dog treats with this brewer's yeast and coconut oil now for a while (see photo) and they always turn out fantastic. My husband and I still eat them too, because other than I make them into shapes for pets, I would use a different mold for us humans...but why bother. I can still highly recommend this product, especially since it is non-GMO!

The best brewers yeast out there. My wife got sick from using fortified B-vitamin powders. Not indigestion, but physically run-down -- from the synthetic B-Vitamins other yeasts we tried were spiked with. Over stimulation from B-vitamin powders or high-potency supplements can dangerously over-whip-up perhaps 7-10% of the people. This one makes you feel better without risking your health.

I recently decided to reintroduce Brewer's Yeast into my nutrition routine and ordered this brand. I was impressed with their claim on authenticity of the manufacturing process. I have used up the product and am now trying another brand, Solgar to compare. The yeast flakes are more dense and fresher in appearance for this one while the Solgar brand taste the same but is a finer ground. Based on the pricing difference of the 2, I plan to stick with Solgar for now and may order this brand in the future. I would say it has a milder taste than the Solgar, however, it's not that different to pay the higher price. I gave this product a 4 instead of a 5 due to the much higher price gap.
