Utter Garbage! Go to the Vet instead and save yourself some headache
missyj95✓ Verified PurchaseDecember 28, 2017
This was utter garbage. I adopted my dog (yorkie poo) from a rescue group 2 months ago. Today I found a flea on him after giving him a bath. He has been itching like crazy and chewing on himself for the past week or two but I assumed it was anxiety and the vet said he was okay when I mentioned it. I was at the vet for his bladder issues.

He is indoors. I live in an apartment and take him on walks around the neighborhood and the apartment complex once or twice a day besides letting him out to just do his business and come back in. We live in south Louisiana.

I only use Tropiclear shampoo on him once a week which is supposedly safe for dogs that receive topical flea and tick preventative and will not disturb the medicine.

This is garbage! I gave him a Capstar after noticing the flea and within an hour a bunch of white flakes came off of him and he's been itching less. I think it's flea larva. I vacuumed them up and within 30 minutes there were more flakes at the bottom of his crate.

After spending the past 4 hours vacuuming every inch of my carpet including every crack in between the couch cushions and every millimeter of the throw pillows, cushions, and washing all of his clothes, my bedding, and vacuuming my bed...PLEASE spare yourself this. I've been boiling everything including all of the filters and containers within my vacuum cleaner. Please learn from my mistake and spare yourself this headache. My back is hurting from scrubbing on my hands and knees.

Go to your vet and get a real flea preventative.

Someone cautioned me against used OTC flea preventative. I wish I'd listened.
Good price, and works effectively.

Seems to work, and the price is right. A minor complaint is that it quickly makes dirty looking smudges on a white dog, even though administered between hairs. Fortunately these can be pretty much removed the following day with a damp washcloth. I would have hesitated cleaning the first day for fear effectiveness of the product would be diminished.
Effective, but expensive

We live in a wooded area with lots of deer and ticks are everywhere. We apply this every 3-4 weeks to our dogs and have no issues with ticks or fleas. We rarely find ticks on our dogs and if we do the ticks are usually already dead.

Substance is very oily and you don't want to get it on your clothes or furniture. It can be a challenge to get it all through the dog's fur and onto their skin and some inevitable ends up matted to their fur. I would give 5 stars if it wasn't so freaking expensive.
Worth buying

We live in the country and run r dogs all summer in woods with r wheelers. They jump in muddy water, and swim in the creek. We never have had a problem with fleas or ticks on r dogs. Only flea medicine we buy. R one dog is also allergic to everything and he can take this
It really works

My chihuahua had been suffering for a while dealing with all kinds of little creatures. I hate chemicals and tried all I could in a more organic way but finally gave in and got him this product. It immediately worked and now he's back to being his little happy self.
