Buy TWO.

Do NOT proceed with any surgery without two of these!! I have three drains after my double m last week. Dealing with the aprons and pins are a nightmare while healing. Just buy two of these and a few cheap Fruit of the Loom (no underwire, front close) sports bras. 1-Gauze over drain sites and incisions 2-cheap cotton sports bra to hold the gauze 3-this camisole with drain pockets!!!
All you need.
(They even come with poufs it you want a little breast shape.)
Mine did not shrink at all. I got my size and one size smaller. One to wear, one to wash. Both work fine (I also bought some compression bandages, which go right over it all)

This camisole was perfect with soft material, lots of drain pockets, and a velcro close front that gave easy access to the drains and/or dressings. The camisole had pink ribbon edging along the neck and down the front that made it pretty and a little less "medical". I liked the sleeveless design which made in easy to wear under other clothing. The item washes well (Nota bene: be sure to close the velcro opening before washing so the ribbon does get caught on the velcro and fray).
Life saver after double mastectomy

This top was a life saver after my double mastectomy. I ended up with 4 drains, and the drain tubes hang down and are a real pain. This top had 4 inner pockets and I don't know what I would have done without it. It opens in the front with velcro.
I'd recommend this to anyone facing mastectomy surgery.
I'd recommend buying a little on the larger side, because the drain bulbs take up a lot of space, and makes it harder to close with them all in the top.

I’m really sorry if you need the shirt but happy you found it.

At this point we don't have a lot of choices so the shirt works really well. I do suggest not washing it with a lot of things and make sure the Velcro is completely closed. I'm going to try washing it in a pillowcase next time. The Velcro sticks to everything including the shirt itself. Don't spray stain remover on it because it leaves spots. Make sure the drains are all the way down in the pocket because the drain spout scratch your skin if you don't get it all the way in. This shirt has been the best though.
and then pulled it back out again to wear when I went back to work and bras were still too comfortable to wear

Someone gave this to me as a gift for my mastectomy surgery and I literally lived in it for the first 2-3 weeks after surgery. The weather was cold so I wore it under my button-down shirts, wore it as a PJ top, and then pulled it back out again to wear when I went back to work and bras were still too comfortable to wear. I did not have any sizing or shrinkage issues with it (but make sure you Velcro it shut when you launder it or it sticks to all the other clothes in the load!). Yes, I could have pinned the drains to my shirt, etc. but it was just so neater/nicer/easier with the pockets. I got lots of flowers, candy, cards, etc. from people after my surgery, but this was by far the best gift. I have ordered it as a gift to give to another person about to have the same surgery. I am 5'5" 135 lbs and the medium worked well - gave me plenty of room to move around comfortably, including sleeping. Normally I would wear a size small, but when moving around doing simple things post-surgery is a challenge, having the extra room just made things easy.
