Superior vs the Stratus 7
Renate✓ Verified Purchase•December 4, 2017
Tried the Stratus 7 first but the sound quality was horrible. Onyx sound quality is much better and the nice color screen along with 20 presets vs the 10 on the Stratus makes it an easy decision especially for only about $20 more. One feature I really like about the Onyx is the ability to "sample" your presets. Meaning that when you hit the button it will scan all of your presets and play about ten seconds of each until you choose which station to keep it on. Had the xpressrc in the past but the rotary knob wore out. Onyx is all buttons so no worries there.
Easily set up in under 5-minutes

Easily set up in under 5-minutes! I was amazed changing from an older SiriusXM tuner to this one, I knew it would be a struggle, but within 5-minutes, chatting on my phone, it was done and listening to wonderful satellite radio! The screen is smaller than I expected, so to see what channel and song is playing I have to get up and walk over to it. But aside from that, I love it!
Great gift for dad

I bought this for my dad for Father's Day because he couldn't get sirius in his new car. He was really excited and hasn't stopped talking about how he can listen to the Beatles station whenever he wants! It came in perfect condition and had everything included. I chose this because it was all in one, which made it easier. Installation wasn't what I expected, but I also didn't look into it, so make sure you know what you're getting yourself into. It all worked out well though!

Currently using on 4200 mile trip. Only very brief interruptions when driving very, very close to highest mountains. Extremely pleased both with reception and vast channel selection to choose among.

Works great. Note to everyone that buys one you should always call customer service to start your service as you can usually get 1/2 priced 6 month deals on whatever package you want. Sometimes you may have to call back a couple times, but it's worth it. The sirius packages are otherwise ridiculously priced, but that isn't the fault of the radio itself.
