This stuff worked really well for our purpose! And you get a LOT of it - much more cost effective than buying a bunch of small bags from the craft store. We used it to fill the planter boxes for our manzanita branch centerpieces at our wedding. This stuff really helped - it almost looked like grass :)
It is dyed - normally it's a light brown color rather than this vibrant green. When I was pulling it apart and using it, I did get my fingers stained green a bit. And they have a very strong smell - kind of like the smell of a farm. We just let it air out for a bit and it was fine.
One minor annoyance was that it has a lot of dirt and stuff that falls off of it. We had a LOT of dirt and little pieces of moss all over our floor by the time we finished making our centerpieces.
But overall, it's good quality, very pretty, and a seriously unbeatable price.
