We used this sandwich maker for our son's 2nd birthday party which was car-themed.
It sealed the sandwich well, just make sure you don't put too much meat inside. You'll also need a lot of force for this to cut the bread and make a good seal without ripping the bread. My wife wasn't applying enough pressure and the bread ripped or it wasn't sealing it well enough.
