Fine Umbrella

For some reason I saw some bad reviews on this item.......the umbrella I received is perfect, works just like an umbrella should. We haven't had any strong winds to test it and my best guess is I won't test it in strong winds. Who wants to be at the beach on a "strong" windy day? I got this umbrella for $30, which I think is a smart buy.
Good quality

Great size and stands up to wind very well. Easy set up instructions. The only reason I'm giving 4 and not 5 stars is because the stick to help turn the anchor pole was missing, not just broken off but simply never attached. Still easy enough to just turn the pole itself in sand so not a big deal.
Good Umbrella for the Beach

I just got back from a week at the beach and the umbrella held up just fine. I was worried because I had a really bad experience with the last umbrella that I bought from a store. To my delight, the EasyGo umbrella was great. The key is making sure that it is anchored deeply into the sand. I wasn't quite strong enough, but my dad and cousins were able to and it stood up just fine. It withstood some pretty windy beach days. It didn't rip or break in anyway. I'm happy with the purchase. The only negative is that the strap on the bag that it comes in, which is the bag you use to carry it down to the beach, it broke on the last day. For my next trip I'll have to figure out a way to fix it. Overall I am happy with this umbrella.
UV protection, fat down tubes, thicker splines Nice!

We vacation at VA Beach - lots of heat, lots of wind!
We've never tossed an umbrella from breaking a down tube. From a $9.99 junker from the gift shop to this $60.00 top notch beauty.
However this umbrella as well as most aluminum pole verities WILL bend/break in heavy wind over time. *IF the umbrella is securely anchored and the wind is strong enough the poke bends. IF it's not anchored enough and the wind is strong your umbrella goes on a solo road trip down the beach.
3 options: fill down tube with sand (makes it a solid tube now), buy a wooden dowel to fit inside the downtube, use PVC tubing with a matching inside diameter to the outside of the down tube and slide it over top. Below are the tips I have used for 50 years.
*for my this new beauty I'm going to get a piece of pvc to slide over the top tube after umbrella is open and fill the bottom one with sand. At 8' this bad boy will catch a lot of wind. Better to have and not need, then to need and not have. People who gave 1star are novices to beach wind and basic science. The only umbrella that can be that big and not break is wooden - a bitch to transport and way heavy that's way we buy aluminum and beef-it-up. You should too!
Tip 1. Add to your set of beach supplies a winged plastic corkscrew anchor (plastic doesn't rust).
Tip 2. Before you attach the Anchor FILL the Downtube with Beach Sand !!! Fill to a line of where your going to set the height. Now clamp the anchor - now your Downtube is solid - won't crush break or bend - ever! This umbrella has a mini screw-in at bottom (nice, but not good enough) get the attachment !
Tip 3. Dig down first - down to a depth so the entire anchor is buried. Now you're where the sand is wet and firm. screw in the anchor using the wings (handles) of the anchor Not the Downtube! Bury the anchor tamp with feet, make mound, install umbrella enjoy the beach, done! *option to slip the pvc sleeve over the upper tube (open umbrella 1st, then sleeve) pic tube fits nicely in same carry bag.
Going home: disassemble do not try to just pull the anchored Downtube out - unbury it first, empty sand, rinse in ocean go home, nice :0)
This umbrella is awesome, bigger thinker Downtube and thicker more robust splines/spokes holding the umbrella open. We always hang towels and other stuff from the spokes - these thicker stronger ones will definitely last. It's big, colorful (easy to spot from ocean, so as not to get lost in the hordes of people), excelleny UV protection, tilts (we never use that feature). And the carry bag will def last longer then the normal plastic + mesh bags.
Note: I drilled out the screw tip and made a flat foot insert so I can use it for our patio table too. I'll just reinstall the tip with a nut and bolt when we go to the beach. Two umbrellas for the price of one, real nice!
After 50 years of going to the beach, as a kid to Atlantic City (back when there were Diving Horses and family friendly beaches) and 30 years with my family to VA Beach, Viginia I have never chased an umbrella or broken a Downtube using the above Tips. I suspect this umbrella will get inherited before it ever wears out or breaks.
Update just got back from VB. 7/29/17 this umbrella did a masterful job. One day it was a steady 15 mph wind with faster gusts. No issues ! If not upgraded (as suggested above) it will not survive a place like Virginia Beach. Because of the larger size of the down tube I chose to buy a 1 1/4 inch wooden dowel. Too long to fill with sand everyday. I left the dowel about 12" long sticking out the bottom (I removed the cork screw plastic piece). Pics are coming..
First 2 pics using as pourch umbrella (notice corkscrew removed).
Third pic is strong all day wind. USA flag is mine too ( notice it's at full mass).
Fourth pic is wooden dowel (1 1/4") and bolt Bolt goes Through the hole already there for the aluminum peg provided to turn the down tube.
5th pic tube over the upper tube (after umbrella is open)

This is the best beach umbrella I have ever had and I have had many. It is really large and sturdy too. We are beach bums and spend the day at the beach on a regular basis in Florida in the winter and New Jersey in the summer. It has never turned inside out even with 15 MPH wind gusts. It screws into the ground very easily, we often screw it down about a foot if it is really windy and it doesnt move. Can't say enough about this umbrella. My husband thinks I am crazy because I say everytime we use it "I love this umbrella" and I think secretly he does too...
