I bought these as a gift for my niece (age 1) and nephew (age 3) because the jumbo crayons they had were broken and came in only 8 colors. This set hits a good combination of quality, variety, and price, and I'm pretty sure I'll purchase more in the near future due to frequent use. Usually my niece and nephew lose interest in coloring after 10-15 minutes, but we spent hours coloring the first day, and the day after (and apparently the third day, based on feedback from my brother)! My niece is in charge of picking crayons for everyone, and she was delighted to have 24 colors to choose from. We didn't have to push down so hard to get rich, dark coloring from these crayons, so I was able to help my nephew work on holding his crayon in a better position. One negative, though, is that the paper slides down the crayons fairly easily.

One more positive: my nephew enjoyed using the container as his suit case when pretending to check into a hotel. The tray is easy to remove and reinsert as needed.

These beeswax crayons are so much cheaper than the Honey Stick beeswax crayons. $6 vs $23. How can I not try these? I love these crayons because they are hexagon shapes (or maybe they are five sided) and does NOT ROLL! After spending days picking up round crayons (I've tried many. The twisting pen type, large size, restaurant versions, etc.), triangle, five sided, whatever are an absolute necessity. The plastic case is just so useful to not only store, it keeps them from being all over. I must say the colors are also very vivid, compared to other crayon products. My only gripe is the fact that my child, 21 months old, can slide the crayon down from the paper wrapper. So I find myself sticking the crayon back in the wrapper. Overall, this will likely be my go to crayons. Oh and each crayon has the color name on it for me to remember to point it out. But my 21 months old already knows most of the colors. So there!

I'm a medical student who likes to hand write my notes and then color them so that it's easier on the eyes to differentiate items/topics. I really liked the way gel highlighters (currently using Sharpie brand) wrote smoothly with strong pigmentation. I got these because I wanted more colors with a similar waxy/pigmented feel--they work great. Seem thicker in application than your everyday crayon, including Crayola, let alone any of the offbrand kinds that are even worse.

I read once that one of the major appeals of Waldorf education is that all the materials used are luxury items. This is our first foray into beeswax art supplies but won't be our last. They are as luxurious as they are made out to be.

Another reviewer said it perfectly that while you can see the difference between Crayola and these, what you can't do is feel how smoothly and beautifully these transfer to paper. Soft pressure produces much richer colors than hard pressure with a Crayola crayon. And the feel of gliding the crayon across the paper is so smooth and lovely it's hard to explain.

My five year old hasn't stopped coloring with these since they've arrived and I am loving seeing her artwork in such bright, beautiful colors.

These are great crayons. We are doing a Waldorf-inspired home school curriculum and we ended up getting these along with the much more expensive beeswax crayons. Both products are lovely in their own regard, but my kids always reach for these first. These have such rich, smooth colors. The price of these is a little friendlier on the pocketbook than the Stockmar crayons as well. And let me just add that the case is amazing. First time ever the crayons are always getting put back where they belong (small miracle right there).
