We have had this unit about a week right now. We purchased because we have a lot - I mean a Lot - of material to shred. It works very well, will take a number of sheets at once and will handle a credit card with no problem. (Have not tried a CD). The one issue I have run into when doing a great amount of paper, is that it fills up rather quickly. Our first 2 "loads" jammed up on us before we knew it. Now, periodically, I will pull the drawer out, push down and compress the amount of shredded paper before continuing. I check frequently as the warning light that is on the top foes not come on. Otherwise, it works very well.

Really great little shredder. We use it for a sm-med sized contracting business and shred paperwork daily, but not a whole lot of it. This guy has kept up quite nicely for the past month-ish and is fairly quiet. It sits less than 2 feet from my desk and I have no issues if it's used and I'm on the phone, or whatnot. I do like the drawer pull-out feature to empty the container a lot vs. taking the lid off and having to dump it. It seems silly not to have it the other way...with the drawer, the actually shredder components stay right where they are. You are just moving the basket to empty and bringing it back to the shredder! Our old one I had to remove the top and get all the string-ys out and find a place to safely "rest" it while I took the basket to be dumped. And it NEVER failed that when I put the shredder top back on, there was always a mess wherever I had let is sit! Ugh! Not anymore! I didn't even know how annoying that was until I didn't have to do it anymore!
So, my best suggestion is, if you are looking at medium-sized shredders and they don't have a "drawer" basket that pulls out - maybe reconsider and look at this one.

This is totally awesome shredder. For comparison, i have the 'jam-free' Swingline $600+ shredder also. I should have bought this one instead long time ago! The much more expensive Swingline Shredder doesn't shred any faster than this -- that thing is very bulky, heavy, and takes up a lot of space (with no space for a printer on top because it loads from the top). Also the Swingline tends to catch unwanted objects such as coins because it loads from the top (a quarter eventually ruined part of that shredder). This Bonsaii, works just as well, and the bin is much easier to empty, too!

This came with a design flaw that made it unworkable. I was able to jury rig a way around it, but for those who can't get it to work out of the box, check to see of the small bar or pin sticking out the back bar on the bin is on the right hand side of the machine. It fits in a hole on the underside of the machine itself and unlocks it so that it will only run if the bin is in place. If the bar/pin is on the left, take the top rim off the bin and flip it. Insert it in its trace. If it works you've solved the problem and you can either let it run like that--placing the bin beneath--or you can call the company and talk to them about a replacement piece.

I talked to the company and they were VERY helpful--eager to help resolve this problem. While my first review was lower, I've revised it due to the marvelous help I've received from the makers of this product and with the performance I've gotten once I resolved the initial flaw.

This is the best shredder I have owned yet. I cannot believe how quiet it is. The ability to shred continuously for 1/2 hour is amazing and the biggest selling factor for me. Almost all the other shredders I looked at had either 2 or 3 minute run time with a 30-40 min recovery. I can barely do anything and then I have to wait forever. There is a built in fan that runs to cool it down while you are using it. I like the large bin. My other one was half that size and I had to take it all apart and lay the top on the ground - what a hassle. This pulls out nicely so you can dump the shreds.
