Seat gets soaking wet even in light rain
NS•November 12, 2017
First the positives. Looks like a very well made product. Easy installation, smooth wheels, riding comfort, big enough for slightly taller kids. My kid is almost 4 feet tall and there is still a few more inches of headroom to grow. The zippers work well, the space in the back is HUGE. Good legroom too. Easy installation onto the bike.
BUT. This product performs very poorly in rain. I left it out in about half an hour of light rain, and I find that the seat is soaking wet! There is about an inch of water standing under it! I repeatedly contacted the Allen support staff, and initially they thought it might be a tear. No, there were none. They then suspected it might be from the zipper. I covered both zippers with a trash bag, and the same problem persisted. They then said though it has a rain shield, it is not "water proof". I was not dipping it in the pool and expecting it to be dry, it was outside in about an hour of light rain. Basically, I was hoping they would have tested for these basic things rather than make me do all the investigation. On top of this, every time it gets soaked, it takes a couple of days left out in the warm sun to be usable again. In short, if you expose it to rain, it is pretty much useless and you have to take the car out for your kids.
Much cheaper trailers that I have bought could handle rain much better, and it is disappointing that such a good product has such a big hole, no pun intended.

Good trailer. Not super comfortable.

Used it as a stroller a couple of times. Not bad. Finally used it as a trailer this weekend. Very smooth behind my 12 speed. Hardly felt a tug. I put a pillow under my child's bottom because bumps may be harsh and she may bounce around. As far as comfort; It's not the most comfy and she did look unhappy at times, but wearing a helmet for the first time may have added to this. She did mention she liked the "ride". The seat belt system could be better. The trailer is easily assembled but you do need some muscle to unfold it into its shape, especially when it's brand new and not worn-in yet. I got it for about $130 as the price had gone down. I've seen it for way more than this at times over $275.
Almost great...

This bike trailer is pretty good because it converts so quickly and easily to a jogger. It's light, easy to use and has plenty of storage. My biggest complaints are the fact that you really can't collapse the body. It sort of breaks down but doesn't really get any smaller. Lucky for me it's JUST small enough to fit in my car to drive to a trail head. Also, the seat for my son isn't supported that well. The harness works but because of the way the seat is constructed, he immediately assumes a very slouched position. So far we've gone for rides of 45 and 90 minutes and he hasn't complained, but I know I wouldn't want to sit like that for very long. Even still, I would give 5 stars if it would fully collapse for easier storage and transport.
upgrading from this this year.

As a bike trailer its really great. As a stroller found that I really need a swivel front wheel as with one kid it never went quite straight. The stroller is quite heavy and I find I have to hold the handlebar down with my forearms and always push it on the back two wheels which is a lot of work on my shoulders. I'm planning to upgrade to a burley honey bee this year. With this Allen Sports stroller I would always be afraid that i forgot the front 3 parts for the stroller attachment. I would add those three pieces to the back compartment then load the rest of the stuff I needed for the day on top. The wheel often would poke my child in the back and would need to make sure it wasnt hurting her the way it was positioned in the storage compartment while biking.Once I biked to the zoo, I would unhinge my bike, lock my bike up, unload all of the stuff in the storage compartment to get to the wheel and two bars from the bottom of the storage compartment for the front of the bike. Often it felt like it took forever to put all the pieces together, meanwhile my child wants to get out. We were next to a parking lot. The whole thing was just too much for me. I'm excited that the Burley honey bee has the front wheel attached to the bike bar. I think its going to be worth the extra money.
It's better than I expected

We use it mainly as a bicycle trailer. It looks even better than in the photo. There are straps for 2, but you can pull just 1 child if you want to, there's a strap in the middle as well. It rides smoothly, turns the corners great, much better than I expected. It's a bit narrower and shorter than some other bicycle trailers for 2 that I've seen, so I think that helps. The sides are tinted plastic so it helps a little with the sun shining in. The trailer feels sturdy, but we used it only a few times on a paved trail and some gravel and grass, so we have yet to see how long it will stay that way. When you assemble it the wheels get on and can come off very easy, but the body of the trailer is actually hard and awkward to lift up from the collapsed state. You have to be careful not to pinch your fingers. It's slightly easier to collapse it after you are done using it. Inside of the trailer it turned out to be better than I expected. It's comfortable for the baby to sit in. It's a hammock style seat with a lowered and enforced area for feet. There are pockets on both sides to store water, food or toys for the ride. There is one thing that I really don't like about the trailer and that is the mesh on the front that is supposed to protect the child from debris from the road, it's zipper only closes the sides and the bottom is just freely overlapping the front, so when we are done with the ride, I keep finding stuff inside it. I wish there was a zipper on the bottom too. So, I'm gonna have to come up with a way to fix that on my own. But all in all, for the money, it's not a bad trailer/stroller.
