I have a 2016 Tacoma with a shell and we often sleep in the back when camping. I have become irritated, when taking the truck off road, because of excess dust and dirt that ends up all over the bed and inside the shell. Additionally, by using this I was hoping to get more insulation as the gap between tailgate and the sides of the bed are quite large on my truck. It filled about 90-95% of my gap issue and stuck really securely to the bed by following the simple instructions. It will definitely cut down on the dust getting back there and I think it should also be effective at keeping out cold drafts. Waiting till Sept for a trip to Glacier and Lake Louise when temps will be into the low to mid 20's overnight to test my theory out.
Wouldn’t recommend - not great at the basics.

This product is just so-so in my option for three reasons:
1) The length of product they provide is insufficient. I have a 2017 Ford F-150 and followed the instructions online for my specific vehicle. I ran out and was about 3 inches short and that was before having to fill gaps still present after installing the primary sections. Seriously, it doesn't cost that much to add an additional foot of product to ensure people have enough to cover their application sufficiently plus a little extra just in case.
2) The product doesn't fill all of the gaps sufficiently. Namely, the bottom corners where the tailgate comes up to the bed. It works fine where the gap is minimal but anywhere there is a slightly larger gap, you're wasting your time.
3) It doesn't seem to work very well overall. After installing it, I ran the truck through the car wash. I then opened the tailgate to see how well the seal worked. The entire back section of the bed was wet and it was obvious the water was entering through at the seal.
Again, I installed exactly to their instructions online and made sure there wasn't light coming through (except the bottom corners noted below because I couldn't double up on the material (ran out!). Overall, I would not recommend this product.

Still on the fence with this one

This is a hit or miss depending on your truck. I have a 99 Ford Ranger and this doesn't work well with it. The product and seal is not the issue. It's the install in certain trucks that is. The biggest issue is the rolling of the seal when the tailgate is closing. The seal gets caught on the tailgate and has been slowing coming off. I would have installed it differently if I could but I can't. It does seal alright on some trucks but the question is for how long. So far, 5 months.
UPDATED- 2014-2017 SILVERADO-WORKS BETTER INVERTED Very Happy-Great Customer Service WINS every time!!

Fortunately for me, this company has great customer service. I was contacted after only a few days and got the issue I had cleared up very quickly. Original installation did not hold up very long, the online instructions are much better for sure. I had followed them carefully and was disappointed that my truck would not hold the seal, it just rolled down. Turns out that on Silverado's the gap between the tailgate and body can be quite tight. If you invert the seal so the bubble is pointing down just on the tailgate piece, it will seal well and not roll down. USE THE SMALL TEST STRIPS LIKE IT SUGGESTS INT HE INSTRUCTIONS ONLINE!! Had it installed a few days now and it shows no sign of rolling or coming detached. Very Happy with this product but mostly happy with this company. They understand EXACTLY what customer service is about. Thanks
Great product and support

Honda Ridgeline 2017 truck has a fairly complicated truck bed and tail gate design. The tail gate has two opening modes: sideways and top down and the bed has a lockable storage. The installation included the trimming of the Extruded Solutions Tailgate Seal around the storage lock and the uneven sidewalls of the truck bed. Vic of Extruded Solutions was very helpful sending me photos to the new Tailgate Seal installation I was able to install it successfully to the truck. I tested the seal by spraying water onto the truck bed and the seal was able to hold the water without leaks. Highly recommend this company and its products.
