I called evenflo before I bought this
Jennifer B✓ Verified PurchaseMarch 6, 2018
I called evenflo about the strap fraying problem before I bought this car seat, after reading the other reviews on here. They said the evenflo seller here are Amazon is legit.
They told me the issue with straps was not manufacturing but from kiddos eating in the seats and small rodents chewing/scratching because of the food.
I'm not entirely sure I believe that but I really wanted this car seat.
SO I did buy it and I do love it. My son who is 3 loves it too. My plan is to just keep an eye on and check the straps every few months. Also I usually don't let my son eat in his car seat for fear of choking so hopefully this tiny rodent issue won't affect us. I hope this info was helpful to other parents. I spent like half hour on hold with the evenflo company to ask about this seat.
Fits Small Car & Very User-Friendly!

Our youngest was soon to outgrow her infant seat; and while our almost 3 year old's Eventflo Tribute worked fine, it's length left us with very little leg space up front. So we were on the search for a seat that would allow for both extended rear-facing AND fit our tiny car without compromising driver/passenger leg room too much. I was ecstatic to find this car seat!

As you can see from the photos I've posted, we can safely and correctly have the car seats installed at the right angle (in the photo, I colored in the arrow on the car seat so you can see), we can keep almost 2 inches between it and the driver/passenger seat, AND allow a comfortable amount of leg room up front (my husband is 5'8" and can fully extend his legs while driving/riding). This seat MUST ONLY be in the most reclined position if its rear-facing. When in this position, it measures 31 inches front to back (see picture). It is definitely not a 3-across candidate (measuring about 22 inches wide), especially for a small car like ours; but if you have two, it could still fit a bag between them.

Safe and comfortable (for all passengers) was our top priority - but all the features on this seat made it even easier to say "yes" to purchasing it. We've tested out a few different car seats for ourselves, as well as those belonging to friends and family while watching their kids, and this one is simply the most comfy and user-friendly! I LOVED how incredibly easy and fast it was to install thanks to the SureLATCH system. I am completely thrilled with this product and would recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat!
Safest seat you can get for the price!

We really like this seat! I researched for several days before buying. I had always heard Britax was the "safest" seat and to be honest, it is. BUT we simply could not spend $250+ for a car seat. So I was going to settle for the Britax Roundabout, their cheapest seat, simply to have the Britax name. I was hesitant though, because it was SO plain! No extra cushioning, no easy adjust harness, nothing. I finally decided to look into non- Britax seats and found this one! It has the SAME safety rating from Consumer Reports as the Roundabout, but has all the bells and whistles - for the same price!

The harness is so incredibly easy to adjust! The head support is too! It feels so cushy and soft, I'm not worried about my baby spending hours at a time in it. And OMG it's so so easy to install...initially anyway. The sure latch connection was the simplest latch system I've installed! I've installed a super basic Cosco convertible seat and my baby's seat before this was a Britax B Safe... and this one was by far the easiest!

The first time I installed it, I placed a rolled up towel underneath, as was suggested from the owners manual. But the first time my child fell asleep in the seat, his head leaned too far forward. So then I went and bought a small pool noodle to place underneath it - nope, still not enough recline and my baby's head was still falling forward. Finally, I bought a large pool noodle, as I saw another reviewer suggested, and used that. I thought for sure I had it right this time! But unfortunately, the next time my child fell asleep in the seat, sure enough, his head was falling dangerously too far forward. I was so upset! I really love the seat and didn't want to have to return it. I was talking about my frustrations to some of my other mommy friends, and they all said "Thats just part of having a larger seat" But I thought, if that was true, there wouldn't be so many warnings on the instruction manual about children's heads falling over and blocking their air passages. So I knew there had to be a way to install it correctly.

Finally, I uninstalled and reinstalled it again with the same large pool noodle, but this time I had the noodle closer to the middle of the seat base rather than the front. Low and behold! This time it worked perfectly! (I added pics with first my original towel rolled up underneath, and then when I put the large pool noodle further to the middle - you can see the difference in the recline.) The next time my child fell asleep in the seat, his head stayed at a perfect angle!

So now, my 4 month, 18lb little boy fits great with all the included inserts, but it's awesome that I can remove a few as he grows.

My only other complaints, and this is why I downgraded to 4 stars rather than 5, is that the harness does NOT come with any padding/covers. So I paid about $15 total for separate shoulder straps and a crotch buckle strap that I will put on. Also, I love the idea of the buckle pockets to pull the straps out of the way while loading and unloading my baby, but they just do not work very well. They are constantly falling out. I'm thinking about having my husband install some simple Velcro strips on the straps and the seat cover, similar to the Britax brands, and see if that helps.

Over all I am very, very pleased with this seat! It's safe and comfortable for my baby, the fabric feels fatastic, and I am looking forward to not having to buy any other child seat for my baby boy!
Harness Straps Shredded Through in 2 Years!
Jason McDermottFebruary 18, 2017
Let me start by saying that I was a huge fan of the Evenflo E3 Symphony car seat that we purchased for my daughter on Amazon in 2012, so much so that I purchased another seat (Evenflo Symphony 65 DLX) for my son on Amazon in 2014. The seats always performed well, straps flowed smoothly and the buckles always clicked securely. Then I noticed that the straps were getting harder to tighten. I saw what I thought was some tearing of the harness and I took the seats apart to investigate. To my horror, the Symphony 65 DLX harness was almost completely ripped through! I gave the strap one good strong tug and it completely separated. Attached are pictures depicting the shredded straps. The E3 seat is about 25% ripped through, and I'm uncomfortable to continue using it for our 3rd child. I would like to speak with Evenflo concerning my issues, and determine first and foremost if I should stop using the seat that is still only 25% ripped through (obviously the seat with the totally separated harness is unusable). Also, if there are any recalls or product replacement options available to me. These seats were not cheap; I was willing to pay the premium price because I believed I was getting a premium seat. These harness malfunctions are obviously not what I expected. Parents, I rarely write reviews. I just want to caution you based on my experience. Neither of these seats were used for more than 2 years and they're supposed to last up until 65 pounds!
It is a good car seat
Amazon CustomerDecember 14, 2016
My baby is about 30 inches tall and she loves sleeping in the car seat.
I just start to use this car seat. It is a good car seat, easy to in store and easy to clean. However, when my baby falls to sleep in this car seat, the car seat seems cannot support her head. I try to help her sleep more comfortable, but after several minutes, she will start to do that again.
I really like this car seat. Is there any suggestions that I can help her sleep in a good way?
