Instead of buying expensive journals which need to be replaced, I would strongly encourage anyone to look at this product. Here you place an inexpensive composition notebook within and replace as needed. The product is of very high quality, and it arrived before I expected. Job well done.

Absolutely love it! It says RUSTIC and so that is what it is. If you want perfection then look elsewhere. As for what I think, it is perfect. I read some others that say "discolored" or "stitching frayed" all WRONG. This thing looks fantastic and everything you see gives it character. I own a lot of very expensive leather (Saddleback Leather briefcase, large notepad holder, moleskin cover, wallet and 2 Bible covers) I proudly pull this notebook cover and have received several compliments. For the money this is an excellent product! I already recommended to my marketing consultant who always has meeting with me and composition notebook and will be buying for my engineers.

First of all, I have a thing for leather-the smell, the feel, as well as the natural imperfections. This leather cover was exactly was I was looking for. It has more of a rustic, made-by-hand look rather than a polished, made-by-machine look. It came with a 100-page composition book, 9.75 in x 7.5 in, which fits nicely to allow for easy opening and closing without a binding issue. There are no pockets on the inside, simply a place (sewn flap) on either side to insert the front and back covers of the composition book. The inside cover flap inserts are finished in the same manner as the outside, but the inside, which is behind the notebook, is rough, unfinished leather. I have seen similar leather covers a few times at leather stores/vendors and actually bought one for $65 (it had a strap that snapped in the front, but the strap annoyingly gets in my way when the cover is open-which is why I was looking for another one). For this Refillable Leather Composition Notebook by Rustic Ridge Leather, I personally consider $36.97 to be very reasonably priced and well-made (considering it is supposed to be "rustic").

This leather composition cover is exactly what I was looking for. I usually start a composition book for notes, tasks and ideas in January and that one book lasts an entire year. In the past, I have resorted to taping the cover with packing tape and using logo and brand stickers to cover all of the worn places since this composition book literally goes out in the field with me.

This leather cover is perfect! Supple and soft after I added Atsko Sno-Seal leather conditioner to it; which also protects from scratches, water and repel stains. The workmanship was as expected for a handmade leathergood. The only flaw is the stitching on the inside of the back cover. The stitching ran off the interior leather piece but it looks as if it will not pull apart since the stitching goes through the leather without flaw.

The composition books that I buy fits perfectly in the interior when opened or closed. The leather cover and composition book lies flat when opened--which is the main reason I don't use Moleskine or any other bound edge books.

This product was deserving of 5 stars but I gave it a 4 because I felt with the flaw in the stitching I should not have had to pay full price for this product.

I would definitely buy this product again and I am thinking about buying it in black for my husband for Christmas and having his initials stamped on it.

I am a business professional and think that the college composition books are a nice size for taking notes - however the cover of the notebooks don't look so professional at meetings. This is the perfect cover for it - it is leather and high quality and will last a long time. It is perfect for what I needed it for!
