Bought for my grad student son, who goes through these little notebooks like crazy. He loves the cover. It was one of those small but really welcome and useful gifts that can be so hard to find! Nicely finished; the leather feels good; fits the small "composition notebooks" perfectly.

This really protects the mini notebooks and fits well in a large shirt pocket like a Dickey's work shirt. My only suggestion to the makers has to do with the sewn-in leather pockets which hold the notebook in place. Since they only extend halfway across the cover, it makes a significant lump or ridge which is very noticeable when one tries to write on the first few pages in the notebook. It's significant enough that your pen will make holes in the pages when you get close to that ridge. I would like to see the pocket extend almost to the binding (since the notebooks are flexible enough to get them in if you fold them back.) Alternatively they could furnish a plastic sleeve like the ones used in a carbonless checkbook to keep you from writing through multiple copies. Or even make the leather pocket out of a somewhat thinner leather than the tough outer cover. Just saying....

Excellent pocket journal. Its simplicity is what makes ii worth the purchase. You have an readily available supply of refillable paper as its intended to use the mini-composition notebooks . This just gives them a protective case when it sits in your pocket. I use it at work and other co-workers are asking where I got it because it so unobtrusive in your pocket during the day compared to the small spiraled, flip notebooks which eventually bend the spiral. Highly recommended if you have a need for a portable, note-taking device throughout your day.

This is a well-made pocket notebook. The leather is thick and sturdy. The stitching looks very strong and should last for years. I have also keep my business cards and some loose-leaf papers in the pockets for shopping lists. The only thing I wish this had is a bookmark sewn into the leather case. I will have to do that myself.

Thick, durable leather. A quality product. I only wish they'd managed to think of a way to mitigate the bumpiness the leather folds present the pen.
One way may have been to have the internal leather flaps continue further inward, while still only sewing them for half the cover's width. This way, the writing-surface could remain smooth, while the composition book would remain insertable.
