Otto is that guy you keep around the office even he's not that good at his job.
He tries hard, sits patiently holding the tape waiting for you to need some. How often do you need tape? Can't be that hard of a job. Just waiting"¦

When the time comes for action, he tries hard. Sometime you get good results, sometimes he loses grip and the tape and it pops up out of his tiny little otter hands. He's not that heavy, so sometimes you need to hold on to him to keep him from falling down or wandering off. I used velcro picture frame mounting tape to hold him to the desk. Also replaced the wheel with one from another dispenser which has helped greatly.

He is so cute and so detailed, and he tries so hard. We still love him and keep him around.

If you're a type-A worker who would resent an otter that doesn't out perform each time, buy a heavy plain black old school tape dispenser. If you don't mind doing some of his work and letting him take all the credit, he will enrich your life and liven up your workspace.

Well $16 is pretty high for a tape dispenser.
But if you have an 8 year old that thinks Otters are his/hers spirit animal, then this is for you.
The otter statue itself is well done and super cute and doesn't look freakishly weird like some "made from china" items you get from Amazon.

It is easy for a child to put the tape in and our, as the otter's hands have slits inside holding the tape.
My only minor complaint is that the circle thingy (very good use of words there) is wobbly and a little unsturdy.
That does NOT affect the dispensing of tape, but it does make it awkward at times. So that part, for the price could have been done better.

Final say: its super cute if you want to pay the money but know you may be slightly frustrated at some point, but it is still worth the cuteness factor.
Purchased for Christmas 2020 for an 8 year old boy for distance learning desk.

My granddaughter went away to college this year. I sent her this for her desk hoping that every time she uses it she will think of her grandma. It's working because she has mentioned a few times how cute it is. Don't forget to buy the rolls of tape.

I gifted this to my coworker, and she absolutely loves it. She loves otters, and she regularly uses tape for her paperwork. 10/10 would buy again. Would be gool if there was one of a chicken or sloth :)
