I wish I had come up with the idea. I bought 2 of these stool to use at my workbench in my locksmith van. The first time I used the 1st stool it came apart at one corner. I was rekeying a lock when the stool gave way and I lost all my tumblers. I unfolded the next stool and for a while i was able to set at my bench and repair locks. When I went to unlock a Pickup that I needed some height to my short stature, I once again experienced a collapse and found myself on the ground. The idea is a good Idea but need some modifications to make it more stable.

It works if used extremely carefully and you don't weight over 200#. It has tiny tabs at the top of the sides which prevent the sides from folding in when weight is applied. These can be easily bent or broken, making the step unsafe. I was using this at a campsite to fulfill my need for a step to access stuff in a rack atop my small pickup's camper shell. While not in use it made a pretty good stool to sit upon. There were visitors in camp and some people naturally sat on this stool. Perhaps someone wiggled around a bit to talk to someone in back or something and torqued the stool. I don't really know, but the tabs got bent and when I used it again to step on it collapsed. This really isn't safe unless you are very careful and do not allow anyone not fully instructed in it's safety flaws to sit upon it.

I got this stool to sit on in my closet while putting on socks and shoes. For that purpose it works great. The height is comfortable (I'm 5'7") to size and get up from. I would not recommend if you are looking for a stool to stand on. it does not lock open so I would be afraid it would be unstable to stand on, I would never attempt to stand on this. Since using it as a stepping stool was not my purpose it is fine for me and would recommend as a stool to sit on.

I've had mine for about two years with no complaints, then the other day used it on an uneven surface. This has two little tabs on each side that stick up into slots in the underside of the top when opened. I stood on it on an uneven surface, and within seconds, one of the two tabs on one side popped off. I immediately knew I had made a mistake, but I thought I'd be fine with one tab. Today, I was using it on a perfectly flat surface, but only with one tab. And the second one popped off. I should have known better. Now it's unsafe to use (it really was unsafe with only one tab missing), so into the plastics recycling it goes. I'm buying another one, since it works fine if you use it properly, and it's the slimmest-folding and tallest one of these stools I could find. It's a full 18 inches tall, which helps me with my double-height kitchen cabinets, and it's slim enough to slide into the gap between my refrigerator and cabinets. I can't wait until this design starts being made in a stronger material.

i ordered this a while ago and only used it a hand full of times. The i went to use it yesterday and nearly fell off because the legs moved. After taking a closer look; i found 2 tabs missing and or broken. Very disappointed int the quality. I contacted the seller and they told me their was nothing that there were able to do.
