Inconsistent fiber that breaks during print

This fiber started off working very well on my Monoprice Maker Select, and then I noticed after 3/4 of the roll was used within about 2 weeks, the fiber starting breaking. I could actually snap it quite easily in certain parts just by bending it approximately 90 degrees. I'd have to keep testing it and breaking it until I'd found the end of the weak section, which I can only assume is from bad mixing or some other impurity. Anybody who uses PLA knows that it should be very flexible and never directly snap in half, even when bent completely doubled over. I have since had several aborted prints due to it snapping inside the extruder. I'm hoping this was a bad batch because it did work well for a while, but if I see this again I'll be leaving more follow up reviews to let people know.

Nice prints. Bright white. Excellent packaging and quality. No issues at all. Post processes easily. This is a very good reference filament to judge others by. Is my go to standard for both white and black. Frustrating that supply is hit or miss with other colors. 5 of 5 for white and black.

It was absolutely excellent... until it wasn't. One of the three spools I purchased had a 20cm length of PLA that was contaminated. It wasn't black, it was clear. It was almost 3mm in diameter (this is 1.75mm PLA). It also didn't melt at the same temperature as the rest of the PLA and destroyed the hot end of my brand new printer.
Gets brittle under UV quickly

My 3D printer sits in a room that gets a lot of indirect sunlight. Still, the light that manages to hit the printer seems to be enough to make the filament very brittle. If I don't remove it between prints, it will get brittle enough to snap under its own tension. Parts I print out are satisfyingly flexible, but having them simply snap apart after light exposure ruins the good deal on this filament.

I ordered two spools of this filament. Both rolls were black pla and for some reason the two rolls weren't the same. The first rolls filament was a shiny black filament and the second was a matte black filament. The dull filament required higher temperatures to bond layers... May have been a coincidence but that seems like a QC problem to me. Still is one of my go to filament but they are awful proud of there filament at nearly 30% more than the others... So what am I getting for that premium...
Update: Their customer service contacted me and offered another spool or a refund. That's awesome. It good to have a product that is backed up by the seller.
