If you eat freeze dried meals from the pouch, the long handle keeps your hands clean.

I travel by bicycle rather perpetually in connection with an education/outreach project "¦ Don't laugh. Live long enough, and it could happen to you too. Anyway, because motels are spaced for those who drive rather than pedal, I camp two nights of three when on the road, and because the bike I pedal is loaded with everything I'll need for months on end, what it carries must be as light as possible, thus the Toaks Titanium Spoon, which weighs next to nothing.

Pedaling all day leaves a fellow feeling hungry, so I often eat whole containers of whatever I get my hands on. Favorites include 32-ounce tubs of Greek yogurt, and the Toaks spoon is long enough to scrape the last of it from the bottom of a tall tub without getting yogurt all over my fingers. The bowl of the spoon even has a slightly flattened end, the better for scraping bottoms.

If there's a negative, it's that titanium gives off a mildly metallic taste. Not unpleasant to my palate, but it's there, as with all such titanium cutlery. The titanium is also thin, so the edges of its long handle can dig into the hand if not held just so, but a comfortable grip became muscle memory soon enough. Although thin, the titanium is remarkably rigid. I've never had the impression I was at risk of bending it when digging too-cold ice cream out of a deep container.

All considered, I can't think of anything I'd change about it.

This spoon is about as good as it gets. The handle is long enough to reach the bottom of even the largest meal bag. It is also long enough to reach the bottom of my 1.2 liter cook system pot. Perfect for stirring whole foods (soups and stews), the polished bowl causes no damage to pots and pans.

The handle is very rigid and the titanium will not rust or degrade in a typical lifetime. Light weight, this is a good addition to any back country cook kit.

I cannot say enough about this spoon. It works great for freezer bag cooking or eating out of a jetboil. I have purchased many of these as this point. I give them away to friends and I have one hidden away at work, in my day pack, my hiking backpack. Ended up purchasing this particular one because my backpacking one got confiscated by my son cause he saw I wasn't getting my hands all up in my pot when eating on a backpacking trip. Highly recommend this spoon.

Love the long handle on this spoon. Great for using while hiking, camping or backpacking. Handle is perfect for eating out of prepackaged meals.
