This is my favorite brand of Astaxanthin. I am a tow truck driver and my body gets real sore and feels like it is beat up from the long hours and physical work. I noticed that taking Astaxanthin makes the pain go way down. I first started taking it when I learned it powerful as an antioxidant. But I noticed that it not only gave me the antioxidant results of not getting nailed by colds, but it made my body go from a always painful state to just sore. I did a little research and found that people with all kinds of muscle and nerve problems have the same result.

I have tried 6 brands now and Sports Research is my favorite. Some are fishy tasting and come back on you like cheap fish oil supplements. Sports Research brand, only has a coconut tast and smell from an occasional burp. Also, because they use the highest quality AstaReal brand harvested astaxanthin I know it is not loaded with toxins. I also notice being in far less pain with Sports Research brand, I assume because of their pairing it with coconut oil for better absorption. I have tried other brands instead 3 times to save $5 or $6 and each time notice the lessened effect on my body.

I am staying with Sports Research brand from here on out.

I don't normally write reviews but I just had to take a minute to sing the praises of this product. I have bruised very easily since childhood - even a slight pinch results in a nasty looking bruise that turns blue/green, and lingers for 2-3 weeks. I do not have a blood disorder or iron deficit - just weak blood vessels. I was searching for a solution because it's more noticeable as I've aged and my skin has gotten thinner. I read about astaxanthin and figured I'd give it a try. I'm 41 years old, an avid tennis player, have a toddler boy, and two small dogs, so you can imagine how often I'm bumping into things. This is no joke...within ONE WEEK of taking this product, I had ZERO bruising on my body. This is unheard of for me. I tan very easily and don't wear tons of sunscreen, so I can't really speak to the comments re. sunbathing results. I also don't have chronic joint pain, so can't speak to this aspect either. But I can tell you with 100% certainty this product will remain in my medicine cabinet for years to come.

Paired with 1500mg of turmeric and Krill oil from this company it's an excellent combination for fighting inflammation. I'm only 25 but have muscle spasms in my neck and costochondritis so this works great.

I have been using Astaxantin for over 15 years. I am VERY prone to skin cancer due to years as a pro water skier in my youth (79 now). My skin doctor says: "I don't know what that stuff is, but keep doing it". If I skip using it for more that a month, cancer cells do appear. So I'm an Astaxanthin fan and don't use sunscreen.

I love this antioxidant. It helps prevent sunburn, and it does much more for your skin. If you get a little too much sun it heals a sunburn more quickly than normal. I've noticed that my tan has a beautiful golden color, like it used to when I was a teenager. It also makes my skin look great; clearer and smoother.
