As other reviewers have mentioned, this cord snaps easily. Forget knots--which make this problem worse; I could snap this cord simply by pulling on it with minimal force. I know leather can have weak points but that's ridiculous. I wonder if it's really 100% leather or some kind of conglomerate. I've had 1.5 mm leather cords before and you could really tug on those without them snapping on you.
Again, as others have said, the smell is quite strong. It doesn't smell like leather to me: it smells like chemicals. I get that it's dyed, but woof. Smelly smelly.
Anyway . . . I'd avoid this . . . although for $9 I'm not sure what I expected. :(

I was skeptical on this Cord just because I stick with what I know and it's not exactly cheap. But this Leather Cord was AMAZING!!! As soon as you open it, you can smell the quality of leather immediately. It holds up really well thus far for Leather Beaded Bracelets. If you have any knots tied with it, and they are too tight, over time it could chip away at the white coating, but would definitely take a lot of wear and tear on it. Perfect Cord and have already ordered more of other colors!

This leather stinks. It stunk up my entire beading drawer. The two necklaces that I made out of it smell so bad that I could not wear them, and had to remake them with another cord. I have no idea why it stinks. The cord is lovely, consistent size, smooth. And the smell is horrible. I have sprayed everything with Fabreze, put it outside the house to air, and nothing kills that bad smell. This is the first time I have ever had this problem in years of jewelry making.

I LOVE this! I plan to eventually get every color. I thing it knots quite well. Better than that waxed stuff that wouldn't hold a knot if your life depended on it. I make beaded wrap bracelets with this and the stay put well enough for one end to actually be part of the closure. I have worn my bracelets many times and have not had them come apart on me once!
