This stuff works really well. I repair small multitrack recorders and use these regularly. No complaints. Let the red stuff sit awhile on the rollers and soak in. Then spend a little time wiping it off and the rubber will be satiny and pliable the way it should be.

It would be unfair to just call these two fluids "home brews". Sometimes "home brews" beat the stuffings out of products with fancy commercial packaging and labels. Such is the case with both the SR-Audio head and roller cleaners. My photo shows all the crud that they cleaned off of the heads and roller of one of my restoration projects. Best of these I have used over 45+ years! As for the buyer who claimed it melted his pinch roller, ...........no way, unless he drowned it in the fluid for a week. It is best to apply it until all signs of tape stain are gone and the old dried layer of rubber is also gone. Then, stop and let it dry for a day. My roller looks like normal healthy grippibg rubber again.
