Perfect emergency backup. I love the fact that it comes with a base charger, AA battery pack option included and headset patch cord included.
It needs a bit better squelch control to eliminate static when not receiving transmissions ...

Great radio but lousy antenna

The only fault I have is with the radio antenna . Keeps popping off with the slightest pull. Even the customer tech guys said it's one of the worst he has ever come across, and there is no fix for it agh wrong O . Bought a different antenna and it stays locked.

This HT radio is valuable on the ground and in the air. If you want an aviation Com TX, Com/GPS RX for flight prep and in flight backup, this is the one you want. Great features and robust construction that seems to hold up to frequent use. I would buy this radio again and recommend it to my aviation circle

Great handheld for backup. Takes a little time to learn how to use it, but if you can't figure it out you probably should not be flying in the first place.
