Finally, a good alternative!

I rarely write reviews on Amazon, but had to come here and comment after receiving this product yesterday. We have an infant who is very allergic to peanuts and were advised to get all peanut products out of our house. this was bad news for our toddler who has decided to live off of peanut butter and crackers. We tried various soy butters, almond butters and Sunbutter and each of them got a hard no from our toddler. This came yesterday and our toddler LOVED it. She sat down with her usual crackers and "peanut butter" and ended up eschewing the crackers entirely to shovel this no-nut butter into her mouth with her hands. That's a great endorsement! I tried it and had to refrain from eating it by the spoonful as well.
We definitely will be buying again. The only reason this does not get 5 stars from me is because the price is rather steep for the amount of product you get.

Close and, yes, it gets a cigar.

OK--this stuff does not taste "exactly like peanut butter" as I heard Missy Chase Lapine (the developer) claim in a radio interview. However, speaking as a person who misses peanut butter from my nut-restricted diet, it is a reasonable facsimile to the real thing. Definitely a peanut-like flavor, mouth "feel" creamy, very much like peanut butter with just a very slight hint of graininess. A little on the sweet side which my sweet-tooth does not object to. I can not discern anything resembling a pea flavor. I will buy more--I only wish I lived near a store that carries it. (I looked for it in a Whole Foods last week and could not find it there).
Taste and texture is AMAZING

Holy cow this stuff is addicting and delicious!! Unfortunately I'm eating clean now and while its made with golden peas, it's also made with powdered sugar which is a no no... So I went on a binge before I started my clean eating and finished off the container (seriously, so delicious) and am crossing my fingers that the Sneaky Chef comes out with a "cleaner" version :) I would say this is an EXCELLENT replacement for your standard skippy or jif nut butter for those with allergies :)
An almost perfect peanut butter alternative!

I used to buy NoNuts butter at our grocery store until they stopped carrying it, and was hunting for another golden peabutter since we loved that stuff. One of my children can't have peanuts, and while he's fine with other nut butters, I've never found any of the other nut butters we've tried to be particularly great taste-wise, or texture-wise. They have a tendency to separate, even if they're no stir. The golden peabutter took care of those issues - the taste isn't identical to peanut butter, but it's close enough, and the texture is almost identical.
This one is almost as good as the NoNuts, and a very good alternative seeing as how there's no way to buy that one at the moment without spending a fortune. It's not going to fool you into thinking it's definitely peanut butter, but it's got a close enough taste that it works even for my kids who can eat peanut butter when they can't take peanut butter somewhere. The texture is just as nice as the creamy peanut butters I have bought for my children who can eat peanut butter. My only complaint? It does separate ever so slightly, though nowhere near as bad as some of the nut butters I've tried over the years. We use it pretty regularly, and the slight separation it does happens fairly quickly. A real quick stir has taken care of this issue so far. It's really the only reason I don't love it quite as much as the NoNuts brand - I never had that issue with it. Otherwise, my non-peanut eater is quite happy with it for his peabutter and jelly sandwiches, and even my peanut eaters will eat it if they aren't allowed to have peanut butter. So I'd highly recommend it if you need a peanut alternative in your house, even if your child can eat other nut butters as so far this is way better than any of the other non-peanut nut butters we've tried and a pretty good golden peabutter.

The BEST peanut butter substitute out there!!

This is the absolute BEST faux peanut butter I've found. The texture and color and overall experience is very true to classic peanut butter. It has a nutty flavor. Let's be honest: nothing is going to taste like peanut butter except actual peanut butter. Even so, I find it delicious! (MUCH better than the competitors.) I have something to give my son who has a peanut and tree nut allergy. He can have that childhood experience of eating a peanut butter sandwich. And I am able to still enjoy almost-peanut butter sandwiches. Sneaky Chef No-Nut butter saved the day!
For your Info: the primary ingredients are "yellow peas and canola oil." It also contains "sugar (tapioca starch), palm oil, salt, mono and diglycerides, *cocoa powder,* and natural flavors." It is made in a facility that processes soy and has a "peas (legumes)" allergy warning. This is the entire nutritional info on my packaging. So, watch out if your child has a cocoa, legume, or soy allergy. It is "non-GMO" and "free from peanuts, tree nuts, and gluten."
