Overall I really like the product and get a good creamy lather from it. The trick is, in addition to soaking your shave brush, you need to wet the soap for at least five minutes (I normally do 10+ minutes normally). I found this out checking out the Badger website for advice on getting a good lather from their soaps. If you try to cut corners or skip steps entirely it won't create a good lather. But when I follow Badger's instructions to the letter I get a real nice lather.
So 4 stars instead of 5 because it's not at all forgiving if you make a mistake creating your lather but it is a good shave soap if you do follow each step precisely.

Excellent Moisturizing without Harsh Smell

If you're looking for an after shave that doesn't dry your skin and overpower you with a harsh smell, you've arrived at the right product. This is a facial oil with a very mild, pleasant earthy smell. It moisturizes as good as the Nivea balm I use, but the Nivea smell is too strong for my tastes. Also, this moisturizes better than my old-school Proraso after shave lotion. My only small complaint is that the bottle's opening is too big. I wish there was a plastic blocker with a tiny hole in the middle. So be careful when pouring this on your fingers. You only need a small amount. Great product at this price point. Recommended.

This stuff is great. You only need a couple drops, and it has a pleasant wood scent, unless you don't like the sell of fresh wood. The opening is big, but it's not hard to pour out a tiny amount.
Also, this may appear pricey, but it's about as cheap as it gets without getting into synthetics and gels.
