Great on my 26" wheel Cannondale but won't work on my 20" wheel Bike Friday

I have only owned these lights a few weeks but have already gotten numerous comments about how cool the lights look. More importantly, I am much, much more visible to motorists. Riding in San Francisco, CA right now is starting to feel dangerous due to all of the motor vehicle traffic on the streets and it's crucial that bicyclists wear high visibility gear and use lights on their bikes. I prefer these lights over others I have seen due to the rubber tubing that encapsulates the LED wire string.
What I am not in favor of is the placement of the battery pack. I bought a pair of Brightz for my 20" Bike Friday and they wouldn't fit on the rear wheel due to the spoke-mounted battery pack bumping up against the rear cog set. The front wheel's spokes barely accommodated the placement of the battery pack and it wasn't as snug a fit as with my 26" wheel bicycle.
Great if you have a large wheel size, but you'll want to go with a hub-mounted battery pack if you're planning to install your Brightz on a smaller bicycle.

I still have some residual anxiety after getting hit by a car on my bike over a year ago. I decided to put extra effort into being more visible. These are PERFECT. I got them for safety reasons only, I want to be not just visible but impossible to miss, but they also look cool and I'll admit I like the aesthetic too. Set up was a breeze, the instructions were clear and even with one hand I had no problems. The plastic (rubber?) tubing around the wire is very nice, I don't worry about them being fragile. I've ridden in rain and had by bike outside during a full work day with torrential downpour and have no problems. Battery pack is metal or something, not heavy but feels very sturdy. I haven't had them long enough to need to replace the batteries so I can't say anything as to their battery life. Very pleased with my purchase.

How can you not feel happy riding a bike that was rainbow lights? I feel very safe biking when the sun has gone down. The lights are very bright which is great for my city which apparently has an aversion to street lights. I've been over my bumps and dips, these things don't budge. It's very secure. I don't bike very fast, so I cannot speak to disbalancing of the wheels.
Install did take me an hour per wheel, but that is because I am slow, inexperienced with zip ties, and had to fiddle around with positioning of the battery pack. I have disk brakes, and it led to a little bit of trouble when mounting the battery pack on my rear wheel. I was able to find a position where I could finish screwing it in (hurray for my disk brake having a hole in the perfect spot!!), but I cannot say this would work with all types of disk brakes. If you have these types of brakes, you might have to play with positioning or only be able to have these lights on your front wheel. That being said, don't be afraid of the install. If I can do it, anyone can. It isn't difficult, just a bit time consuming.

They look great once they're on! But getting them on was a tad of a project. They are too long and we had to use zip ties to hold them in place. It did turn out good and they do look great once they're on, but be prepared for a tad of a project getting them on.

As a product reviewer, I spent hours researching bike lights. I opted to purchase these, and I am thrilled with them. Installation can be challenging so I offer the following steps to save your sanity: 1 "“ throw out the instructions. 2 - purchase a pack of 4 inch zip ties. 3 - mount the box on the inside of the spokes. 4 - Wrap your lights around the bottom of the spokes, securing every other spoke with a zip tie. 5 - cut excess. As always, the 2nd tire was easier. It took a total of 10 minutes. Hopefully, with these instructions, you can install both tires with ease.
To turn the lights on/off, push the button inside the spoke. Changing the batteries may be inconvenient, but at 40 hours of run time, you won't be doing that too often.
Now for the best part, these lights are BRIGHT! I turned them in a crowd of people and received many positive comments. I get stopped by people on scooters asking where I purchased these. I believe I can be seen from two blocks away ! I purchased the white lights and they look fabulous on my matt gold bicycle. Do not hesitate to purchase these lights!!
