I have 6 pin power but needed 8 pins for my new graphics card. This did the trick nicely.

I needed these for my new gtx1080 graphics cards which I am still waiting for. But I am ready for them now I have these 6 to 8 pin connectors. They look well assembled. I will update when I use them to see if they will safely power the new cards.
A plug that just works exactly the way it should.

I love it when a plan comes together.

I bought this high end well reviewed power supply and the stupid thing came with 2 six pin connectors (no eight pin). So, my graphics card demanded an eight. The requirement for the card was not obvious from any of the documentation and I spent hours chasing down every rat trap other than the right problem, and was in despair thinking my $300 graphics card was toast.

Wouldn't you know, there was a support warning that shows up on the website for the card that says it REQUIRES on eight pin connector. I have a 750 watt PS with the two six pin connectors and another that is 450 watt with one eight pin, and I had to use the cheaper powersupply to ID the problem. When I used the 8 pin, the card worked dandy.

So, I grabbed this puppy to be able to use my expensive power supply. Darn it, I paid for it, I should be able to use it. I plugged this in and voila, all was good in the world of expensive components that surprise you with their stupidity of design.

This little adapter, for a very small price, corrected what some schmuck designer couldn't resolve by just adding the eight pin connector to the power supply in the first place. D'oh.
After verifying that the power supply could handle the load I added these and everything has worked great for over a month at 10

I bought this so I could add a newer generation nVidia video card to an older Dell computer. After verifying that the power supply could handle the load I added these and everything has worked great for over a month at 100% usage. I am using the video card to mine crypto currency.
