Bought this to replace the OEM cord for my Bose QC-2s that I've owned for many years. The OEM connector pin became a bit bent and only one side of the headphones worked. I ordered this replacement cord and it arrived within just a couple days. I plugged it in and it worked great! Felt "thinner" and less robust than the OEM but it worked so I was happy. But sadly, just a few hours after installing it, I set my iPad on a small ledge with the headphones connected. I didn't place the iPad well, and it slipped of the ledge and dropped about 8-10 inches onto a tile floor. I had recently removed the protective cover on the iPad so it was "bare." While the iPad was undamaged by the short fall, it landed on the cord on its edge and guillotined the cord into two parts. Wow, really? The cord was so thin and non-robust that the iPad itself (with no razor sharp edges) cut the cord in two with only a short fall. Ultimately, my fault for not placing the iPad well. But, I would never have imagined that an iPad could guillotine a headset cord. So, buyer beware. The cord works as advertised, but is not very robust.

The connection claims to be compatible with the BOSE AE2 headphones. It isn't. It almost fits, but is just a fraction too big to where it just almost connects, but doesn't. This makes a huge difference though as the connection is spotty and will fail and sputter sound if you move slightly. Even the normal aux connection that connects to the playback device doesn't make a clean connection. If you put your finger on the back and jostle it slightly around, you can hear it making loud scratching noises. This is a very poorly made product and sad replacement for the original cable. Perhaps I just got a defective cable. I'm not sure.

For the most part, this replacement worked out alright. But after a certain, it just stopped working altogether, without any apparent reason. The cable wasn't that old, I hadn't melted it like another one or anything like that. But in addition to not being totally compatible with my iPad and causing some irritating issues, when it stopped working, it stopped playing one channel, but would play another. Like I could hear the background music of the show I was watching, but not the voices of the characters. And when I tried to talk on the phone, I don't know if anyone could hear me, but I couldn't hear them at all. (I recognize that there is no mic, but when plugged into my iPhone, the speaker mic is used.) I've been buying the brand name ones ever since. Same price and they work better.

This product is a functional solution for anyone whose original OEM cord sustained some wear and tear over the years (as mine did). It meets the minimal requirements that I was looking for: (1) It was compatible with my Bose QC15 headphones (2) The audio/music quality would be comparable to the old OEM I had. Apart from a slight static sound that occurs when rotating the headphone jack while it is plugged into my iPhone, this item is satisfactory on both counts.

However, I do miss the mic, and especially the volume controller, that my original cord came with. I still find myself using my left hand to feel for the volume control only to realize it is sadly no longer there.

This item is okay, but I would suggest looking for an alternative model that includes a volume controller if you are in the habit of making use of that function in your original cable - having to adjust to the newly limited functionality is more of an adjustment than you might suspect, and it inevitably makes this item feel slightly disappointing at times.

I bought this in early August as a replacement for my headphone cable that was eventually severed from long-term wear and tear. It arrived surprisingly quickly and worked as it was supposed to, which I was very happy about.

What I wasn't particularly happy about was that eventually the flex part of the connector piece that goes into the headphones became detached from each other, so there was exposed wire. Luckily it didn't affect the quality of sound... initially. Just last week, it began to only produce sound in one side, so now I have to purchase a new cord. This was a bit of a downer, because I expected it to last much longer than these did (two and a half months).

All-in-all, I was satisfied with delivery speed and initial quality. I was not satisfied with how long they lasted before needing to be replaced. Also personally, I do sort of miss the mic featured in the official Bose brand cord.
