I have purchased a total of four of these candy kit sets. I ordered three sets from a seller in Japan, and one set from a US seller. Two sets took right at a month to arrive, while the third set took an extra week. While it was a long wait, the price was the best offered and I got all the sets promised in the product advertisement, including the ramen set. The US seller got it to me very quickly, but they replaced the ramen set with a gummy making kit, and the price was much higher.

As for the kits themselves, I have tried all of them except the Nerican Land kit and the sushi kit. I think the one I enjoyed the least was the cake shop (ice cream) kit because the flavor was very bland, followed by the takoyaki kit because it was just a strange flavor. I have really enjoyed all the rest of the kits, though, including the burger kit. I was a little wary of it because it has such a mixed reputation, but I enjoyed it. My favorite sweet kits so far are the donut and the taiyaki odango. I highly recommend these kits for adults or children!

These kits only take water to make, but you will want to make sure you have some tape, toothpicks, paper towels, and scissors on hand as well. And as you finish each kit, wash and keep the little utensils that come with them. You may find they come in handy with other kits.

Came 15 days BEFORE the earliest estimated date. Most of the Japanese candy I ordered took at least a month and a half. Very happy with the shipping speed. The candy is fun to make and tastes good as well! Super happy about this purchase.

I was first introduced to Poppin Cookin through several YouTube Channels. My thought would be that it would be a fun family culinary adventure. This set gave us the option of trying several different "recipes" for a great price. You can find bigger sets on other websites that may offer you a lower price per box, but this was within our price range and had enough for us each to try making 2-3 and not have a stash left over if we didn't like them.
You probably already know that all of the directions are not in English. You can find the directions online in English at places like whiterabbitexpress.com. We had fun without them and made it into a kind of competition. everything is color coded and after a few minutes it starts to make sense what you are doing. For added fun you can try to get a translator app on your phone like we did for a few of them. We didn't find the apps we tried to be overly helpful, so again just use that for added fun.
Most of the sets are candy flavored, not actually flavored like the food that they represent. The exception to that was the hamburger. That one ended up being a favorite of ours though. It tasted just like a hamburger from a certain fast food chain. The other favorite was the one with the little cake shaped like a fish. The fish is a little vanilla cake and the filling is a chocolate icing, which was simply amazing. The cake itself was a little hard to make. You will need a microwave for a few of the sets and we found we had to do 5 second increments to get the timing right. Once it is "cooked" getting it out of the pan gave us a quite a bit of trouble, but the finished product was still good and looked cute.
The only one that we were all unsure about was the donut one. It looks adorable, it is easy to make, and the flavor wasn't terrible. We found that the finished product was a little on the gelatinous side though. would still recommend it though as I know that wouldn't bother everyone.

These were the prefect surprise for my daughter at Christmas. Arrived quickly and packaged nicely. For the YouTube followers of several geeky shows....you will love this. Great price for the set. They are fun to make and taste (mostly) good. Instructions are pictures or in Japanese but are easily followed. Just need water. Kept my daughter [age 13] entertained for weeks. The little pieces are great to kept for other projects too.

For YEARS I have watched youtube videos of people doing these kits because there's just something about it that is so mesmerizing and relaxing. I decided to get some to try for myself and I honestly fell in love with these. As someone who suffers from terrible anxiety, I find that these really help to calm me down. They are honestly very therapeutic!! There's one in this bundle that slightly differed from the rest, which was one that comes with different colors of edible dough, almost like putty, and you create your own candies with it!! That one was my absolute favorite! I probably spent about two hours on that one - making sure each one was super cute. And they tasted so good! Also I was surprised that not all of these were sweet, it was... a weird experience to make a tiny cheeseburger and french fries with ketchup that actually resemble the real thing. I still have the takoyaki one left and I read that it's mayo flavored, which I hate, but honestly making it is the best part, not the taste. Overall, I'm super happy with this purchase, and I'm thinking about ordering more!
