Beautiful colors... But the box was pretty smashed up resulting in a lot of the flowers being broken and smashed also. Nevertheless, I tried to put them in fresh water and keep them cold but they're already wilted and unusable for my wedding on Jan. 1. Very disappointed.

I purchased these flowers for my wedding reception. I read up on when they should be ordered - about a week ahead of time. I ordered them on Monday, paid for 2nd-day delivery to ensure they would arrive in time, and they arrived on Wednesday, which was plenty of time for my Saturday reception.

Out of the box, the colors were beautiful. The flowers were not packed well and were pretty smashed, but I figured they would liven up once I put them in water. Except there were no directions or plant food or anything mentioning how I should care for them. Ok, that's not very helpful, but luckily, I can find that information out (thank you, internet). So, I pulled the stems out of their tubes, trimmed about an inch off the bottom, and put them in fresh water. Previous experience with mail-order flowers shows that the flowers will open up and straighten out after some time in water. Boy, was I wrong.

We put them in a room with filtered light where they sat at room temperature until Saturday. The problem was, every time we would walk by them or move them (I was checking the water to make sure they had enough), the buds and flowers would fall off. Not just one or two - probably 5-7 each time they were even slightly disturbed. It didn't look like the flowers would make it until the reception on Saturday. I wasn't sure what to do, so I researched what I could be doing wrong, and found that I was doing everything I was supposed to be doing to care for these flowers. They were just a crappy quality.

By the time Saturday rolled around, the stems were completely unusable. We salvaged the blooms as they fell off, since we were needing several for the wedding cake. So, at least that part worked out. However, I had to rethink my centerpieces - the stems looked ridiculous. Completely bare stems 10" from the end. We ended up pulling off the blooms and floating them in the vases. The color was really pretty, and this worked out for the centerpieces, but I ended up with several unused stems - there wasn't room for the blooms and the stems looked awful as they were.

I contacted Just Orchids to see if they could resolve this. They were of no help. By the time I contacted them on Friday, it was too late to get replacements. They offered to replace the flowers or to give me a credit toward a future order. But I'm not sure why I would ever want to order another bunch of crappy flowers?

So, long story short... the colors of the bloom are gorgeous. But if you want to use these flowers for an event, I would recommend getting them AT LEAST a week and a half ahead of time, just in case you get a bad bunch. Maybe that way, you can get them replaced in plenty of time. Or just order from another vendor. The latter would be my higher recommendation.
