Knipex has certainly become the name brand in my tool box. Other brands provide the same mechanics and functions but can seem bulky and heavy. I personally feel these tools have better profile for gripping and balance. Not to mention the durability and finish for preventative rust when working in wet conditions.

I'm only using these occasionally as a homeowner and yes, it's probably overkill to use higher end tools like these. But wow, are they nice! Perfect ergonomics, great grip! I swapped some outdoor lights and getting some of the old screws off required pliers since they were rusted. The great grip of these channel locks was key in getting the screws out.

So if you're looking for what many pro mech's & DIY'ers & tool enthusiasts claim to be the best pliers available, Knipex pliers may be worth the extra cost to you too. YMMV
