• •"The higher momme of the silk makes the fabric heavier and have a slightly stiffer feel to it. You are likely used to satins or fabrics mixed with lighter weight materials that make it feel more flexible or 'softer'. If you don't like how it feels I would suggest going with a lighter momme. Or if you only got this for the slick feeling or to prevent friction on your skin/hair you could go with a cheaper satin or satin blend that may be more of the feeling you were looking for.
• •However those may have the same demoisturizing effect as cotton so if you got this for skin or hair they won't be as beneficial. Also lower momme weights wear out faster than higher ones so there's the longevity factor. It just comes down to what do you want out of your pillowcase.
• •However any you get with 100% mulberry silk will feel like this. I work with fabric every day for a living and I see this reaction to 100% silk often because most things on the market use blends or 'silky' fabrics that aren't actually silk at all. That's just what everyone is used to now."
