Perfect strong, simple straps. I bought these to loop around my car top carrier which has a broken hinge for some extra security on the highway. I didn't want a lot of excess bulk and/or strap going everywhere, just something simple and easy to use. These worked perfectly. I tried some ratcheting straps first and they were just a huge pain - giant heavy metal ratchet box that was hard to hold and thread and tighten. These were way easier to install AND to release the straps. Just push the clip-style lever and the strap releases. The velcro tie downs were also a nice touch and although I think they were intended to be used for storage when not in use, I found it super helpful to fold up the excess strap and tie up the bundle with the velcro for driving. Oh, and the rubber covering on the clamps is heavy-duty and well thought-out and ensured that I never had to worry about pulling the straps off and scratching my vehicle. Highly recommended!

Perfect length for securing my Jackson Kayak Coosa HD to my factory Tahoe roof cross bars! Really like the Velcro strap for securing the loose end of the straps, and the protective coating on all metal to prevent scratching anything. Just throw it across the roof without worrying about scratching paint or breaking a window.
If you're looking for similar applications, this is a great choice!!! Better than the Thule straps that came with my kayak roof rack.
