I will probably purchase another but, as with all the good ones, this is pricey. Understandably so.
Beautiful. We love it

This came earlier than estimated, well-packaged. Exactly as pictured. It looks like it will weather very well considering the construction and materials used. It had a very strong chemical smell when I opened the wrapper. I have it on the porch waiting for spring when I can place it in that special spot in my garden. I hope the chemical odor dissipates before then, and a nice family of birds moves in to enjoy it as much as I already do. Thank you for providing such a great product and service.
Beautiful!

We just had major landscaping done last fall and I wanted a nice, well made, fairly large birdhouse to be the focal point of this part of our garden. We've had many wooden birdhouses over the years and they look great...for awhile. And then at some point they have to be replaced. So the material that this house is made of, should last longer.

The house is super lightweight which I guess is good, as it's a pretty good size. There is an entry hole on the front and the back of the house with a plastic corrugated divider that can be placed inside. In theory two birds can nest in this same box, but I don't know many bird species that will do that. I guess Purple Martins will, but we are too wooded for those to live here. I don't expect to ever see that here in our woods.

The white finial that sticks out of the copper roof (which has a LOVELY patina when it arrives out of the box) is seated on a round PVC pipe that sticks down into a hole in the roof. This finial piece is loose, meaning that a high wind can blow it away, and a mild wind with rain will let water into the house. I solved this by sealing the finial pipe to the roof with clear caulk. Now the house is water tight and the finial won't disappear in a wind storm.

The house is prepared to be placed on a 4" x 4" wooden pole. I found that my pole was a bit smaller than the opening at the bottom. So I put a small shim under the bottom lip when putting the screws in to prevent the birdhouse bottom rim from cracking. I also added two more screws...one for each side of the bottom rim. The house comes with two drilled holes for two screws...one on the front and one on the back. We are windy here in Kansas, so I better prepared this house to stay put regardless of our crazy weather.

To add interest to the pole, and to provide perches for any birds that might decide to call this home, I added driftwood at the base of the pole.

So far we don't have any birds nesting in this house (some of our other houses are full) but that can take time. Maybe I need to hang a "vacancy" sign on the door. :-)

Is this house worth the hefty price? I think so. Time will test it's durability to prove this one way or another. But it's a very pretty house and seems to be well made.
Well Designed Birdhouse

This birdhouse is built very well. It will withstand the outdoor elements since it is not made from wood. The top is easy to remove by the eyelet fasteners and can be removed and re-secured quickly after cleaning out the house . A divider is included so two spaces can be created in one house. This house should retain its superb appearance for many years.
