So I can't say if it's fireproof or water proof because nothing has happened for me to test that out lol
BUT I can say it is VERY sturdy and is super heavy. I use it for cash (I'm not gonna say how much cause that would just be stupid LOL) and nothing else but it would be good for other things that are of value to YOU whether it be jewelry, cash, important documents, or even things that you just value so much you would be devastated if anything happens to it.
It has enough room for what I need it for but you might want to get a larger one if you have bigger or more stuff to put in it. Make sure you MEASURE to see if the inside will fit your needs. That is the ONE important thing to do so that you don't have to send it back to get a bigger one or a smaller one

I researched this box which has the right dimensions for documents which are 8 1/2" x 11". It is heavy because of the materials used to give it such good protection from fire and water damage. It is bulky but compared to an iron vault which is hard to move this has the right protection and is portable. It makes me feel my important papers and documents are safe and easy to move.
