Packed very well for transport, ordered 8 and none were broken/cracked. Good for fermentation if caps are drilled for an airlock. Caps that come with did hold pressure.

However, I tried to carbonate 2 gallons of cream ale to 2.4vol of CO2 as a test batch which resulted in 1 of the 2 soaking into the floor of the garage. Would not recommend carbing in these.

These bottles have a nice shape and convenient loop for carrying but I found them very cheaply made. I was surprised by how thin the glass was. In some spots it seemed uneven with some of it being thinner than a drinking glass. Depending on what you are using these for they may not be adequate. We had one break and made a huge mess. They can't handle any additional pressure from making wine or beer, the glass is not strong enough to handle and will break.

I love these jugs!!! As soon as I got them I washed them and started using them for my R/O water in the fridge. They perform excellently and the screw caps (yeah metal...) work great to keep the water in place and screw on the jug with ease. I don't like that the caps as they are metal and are more susceptible to rusting but other than the cap they work great! LOVE THEM!

This is a perfect size jug for home brews such as apple cider vinegar, ginger beers, etc. I'm not super strong so I've stayed away from the larger Carboy jugs (for now anyway). Love the thumb handle as well as the shape. Looks good sitting on a counter (in the midst of all the other stuff I have yet to clean up).
To clean mine, I add some grit or sand textured rock material, some water and I swish it around vigorously, rinse and then pour boiling water into it to sterilize. Alternately, I can add hot water and a couple scoops of automatic dishwashing powder and swish that around. It works too.

We use these to hold filtered water. The lid that comes with them began to rust after 2 weeks, so I recommend getting the 38mm Poly Seal Screw Caps as well.
