More of a cheap novelty item than a real flagstick

This is not at all what I was looking for. I wanted a solid flagstick and cup to display a flag from the Masters on my putting green. This flagstick and cups are novelty item and could not be left outside permanently. The flag stick is flimsy and would bend the first time there was a strong wind. The three pieces come apart whenever you lift it - there is no mechanism to be attach them together (thus the "portable" nature of this flag). There is no ferrule at the bottom of the stick, just a tapered plastic plug that passes entirely through the plastic cup and into the soil below. The plastic cup is solid on the bottom (except for a small hole in the middle where the stick goes through it) and dirt and debris would build up in the cup.
Great for marking the 19th hole!

I put this out in our front yard when we have patio parties; one for the Masters and another on Father's day (US Open). People have no doubt which house is ours. I leave the cup in the yard and put the flag away; it breaks down into 3 or 4 pieces for easy storage.

Second time I've bought this same item. It held up out in the front yard for over 3 hard winters and summers. It's such a great deal and looks professional.
Only problem is the strings used to tie to pole ...

Only problem is the strings used to tie to pole get brittle in the sun and literally fall off in a few months. No way to switch due to design, but you can cut small holes and use a lasting material. The flag itself is well made and did not fade much at all. Please redesign the strings for attaching!!!.
