I've purchased these more than once. The first bag was probably from a different vendor, and the product tasted older (maybe rancid) even though the expiration date was still good. Could have had something to do with how it had been stored. The most recent bags I've purchased have been what I'd expect. I would recommend that the Mauna Lao company vacuum seal its' products and include an oxygen absorber to preserve freshness and slow the oxidation process. We are particular about the foods we consume, so I will be looking for other sources I can rely on for freshness and quality of product.
