Not very loud, no volume control
mike•April 21, 2018
It pairs with Bluetooth headphones very easily and quickly. The major drawback is no volume control and it's not very loud at all. If you want something to pair your Bluetooth headphones with an old iPod, get the kind that plugs into the headphone jack
Makes old IPOD wireless.

This is great to attach to IPOD that is not wireless. Able to use by BOSE outdoor speaker with old IPOD
No Control!
Alan Getz•May 30, 2017
Purchased this to use with my IPOD Nano (5th Gen.). I have three new wireless speakers that I use with my new 7th Gen. IPOD (all work great). Using this adapter with the 5th Gen, I don't have any push-button controls on the speakers themselves (Volume up/down, track forward/backward, pause/play) and even adjusting the volume on the IPOD itself has no effect on the volume. Something about this transmitter disables all those functions.
Music will play, but at a mid-range volume that cannot be adjusted.

Good buy!

If you're looking for a Bluetooth transmitter for the gym, this is perfect. I've had zero problems with it so far (2 months). Plug it into your ipod (nano for me) and turn on your headphones. BAM! Connected. I put it in a locker and can roam the gym with no signal loss. Perfect for what I use it for. Gym, kayak, running.
Side note: don't try to push it all the way into your ipod. There will be a small gap between them. Not a big deal.

A coin toss on whether it will work or not.

After receiving this item, I immediately tried it with an 80gb ipod classic, 5th generation. Did not work at all. The instructions are extremely minimal and were no help whatsoever. Others seem to have gotten it to work for them, but from my personal point of view, it's very iffy whether or not this will work for any given person, regardless if the model of mp3 player is said to be compatible or not.
