Product is fine, however would have preferred smaller pins for marking locations on maps. I suggest looking into smaller sewing push pins before using the provided thumb tacks. It is not solid cork so once a pin hole is created there is no flexibility.
I love this cork globe

I love this cork globe! It is exactly what I was looking for and wanted. The only "bad" thing is that the pins it comes with are really big in comparison with how small the globe is, which I wanted the globe to be small. If you travel to lets say Paris and pin it then you will have difficulty pinning anything else in the surrounding countries. So I had to purchase classic red ball map pins. But besides that. I love this thing. Great conversation piece when visitors are around
Decent Product, but Overpriced

I'll begin by saying this is a nice product. I got it for my mother as a Christmas gift and she loves it.
However, like many other reviews state, it is WAY overpriced for what you get. I do understand the whole "supply-demand" dynamic, and if you're one of the only ones to make a product of course you want to make as much as possible from it... But I can't imagine it costs anywhere near what you pay for it as a consumer to make, and if they were to charge a more reasonable price the manufacturers could still turn a profit.
The price isn't the only reason I'm only giving this globe 3 stars... The small size is VERY small, and the plastic ring around the middle is a bit cheap looking. It's not really noticeable from far away, but up close it does take away from the overall look of the piece. Also, once you put pins in it the globe only rotates a certain distance; the stand doesn't have much room between the metal and the cork to allow pins to pass through, so if you have a lot of places to mark the globe is basically stuck in the same position.
But overall this is a fun product and a nice gift for the traveller in your life. So if the price doesn't break your bank and you don't really mind the things I've mentioned, I would recommend it overall.

The damage was pretty minor overall

I purchased this globe as a warehouse deal, and ended up sending it back. I knew it would have a little damage, but at about 1/2 the original price, I thought it might be OK ($74 compared to anywhere between $125 and $150). The damage was pretty minor overall, two dents about a 1/2 inch on opposite sides. However, up on a shelf, the damage was really blatant looking on the lightly colored cork surface. The real clincher however was that the longitudinal lines didn't match where they passed though the equator. It looked pretty ridiculous. Like a really bad sewing job! The globe does not move at the N/S hemispheres, so I couldn't adjust it. I didn't try any pins - after assessing the shoddy workmanship and the damage, I decided just to pack it up and send it back.
I do think that it's a good idea in theory, but this model is just poorly executed. Not even anywhere close to being worth $75, even if it was in perfect condition, in my opinion.
