Wife loves that she is not wasting water just waiting for it to get hot.

I'm always nervous to install plumbing myself, but i did on this unit and had no problems whatsoever. Kit is complete and I didn't not have to make a run to the HW store. I did have to drill holes in the cabinetry to run an extension cord to get power under the sink. My wife loves that she is not wasting water just waiting for it to get hot. She can push the button wait a minute and when the pump goes off, she knows it's hot. The pump is really quiet, but you can hear it. A year later i installed a Skylink MK-1 Universal Garage Door Remote that triggers the pump wirelessly from a bathroom in another part of the house. The remote works 40 feet away, maybe more, but i don't know. We're very happy with this and well worth the $$$.
Delivered what it says...

I have an old house, with a water heater quite away from the kitchen. I push the button, do some other things in the kitchen, wait about 5 minutes and push the button again.... Hot water delivered to the sink... Its what we needed.

When we added a bath to our house, the wait for hot water was unacceptable. We purchased this pump, and once installed, it solved the problem completely. We are considering purchasing another for the kitchen to save water. This is a great little device!
The device is small, but does take up enough space that some thought and planning is wise, especially if the cabinet is small. Also, it is designed to pump water between the hot and cold water pipes, and the existing valves must be removed and a fitting (included) must be installed, then the valves installed on the fitting. You also need to have a source of 120 VAC electrical power available. Finally, a push button must be installed on the cabinet to trigger the pump. Nothing requiring a Ph.D. in Rocket Science, if you are handy with electrical & plumbing work, but hire a professional if you're not.
In our case, the adapter was not designed to work with the way our pipes were installed, so I made new adapters from some copper fittings I had in my home workshop. Once done, the installation was very straightforward, and the device worked immediately.
The device is well made. All parts are of substantial material, and the finish is excellent. I suspect it will outlive me.
Use is also straightforward: leave both the botanical taps OFF (else the pump could suck air into the lines), push the button, wait until the pump stops running, then use your sink or lavatory as normal.
As I said at the outset, the device works well, is well made, and has made our lives better. We will likely buy another for the only other long plumbing run in out house.
Addendum:
After the pump was installed, it performed well for about a year, then ceased to trigger the on demand water heater. I contacted Taco tech support and they thought it was the check valve and gave instructions on how to fix it. After another cash to tech support, i was able to do this, but the pump still failed to pump sufficient column to trigger the heater. After reading through the website, I now understand this model was never intended to work with on demand heaters such as the Rinnai we have. They make several models and you choose depending on type of water heater and house size. Before you purchase, go on the Taco website and check their info on sizing the unit. That may save you some disappointment--and some money.
