Messy to Work With Sugru Moldable Glue strips Work Better
SuzanneSB✓ Verified Purchase•July 29, 2018
I just used this to repair some rubber soles houseshoes that were getting worn at the heels. I have tried for three years to find more houseshoes like these because they are scuffs that hold a diabetic insole in place. Since I can't replace them I am prolonging the life by repairing. I have four pair. I found Shoe Goo to be quite messy and hard to squeeze out of the tube. I will have to see how it holds up. I had previously ordered Sugru moldable glue and used it to repair them several months ago. It worked great but I didn't order enough so they wore out pretty fast. Sugru is much easier to use because it comes in moldable strips that aren't messy at all. I just ordered more because I know it will leave a good bond and wear well.
Does what I need it to do.

Pretty much exactly what I needed. I've managed to keep a couple of pair of work shoes up and running for months longer than they'd normally have worn out due to excessive heel wear. I'm a big guy, and that tends to be a problem with the added weight.
One negative, and the loss of a star, is that the shoe goo, even when left to cure for days, is not as durable as the original vulcanized rubber heel. I have to apply a re-surfacing about every 2 weeks (Keep in mind that I'm big. Someone lighter than me might experience better results.) I'd really wish the formula could be tweaked somehow to increase durability. Still, it is easier on the wallet to buy a tube of Shoe Goo every so often, rather than plunk down dozens of dollars on replacement shoes. I prefer the black to the semi-clear yellow original as it looks so much better on black soles, especially when scuffed up.

Works well as desbribed.

Works well as described, however after placing the adhesive on the shoe, you need to clamp it down overnight to get the best bond. Without clamping the bond is not very tight and it will loosen up at some point in time
Shoe Goo is a Skater's Favorite!

As a skater, my son loves it, as he is rough on his shoes and finding black Shoe Goo in the stores is difficult.
As a mother...there is an odor to the Shoe Goo that I do not like...typically glue smell...but it is compounded by the fact that my son used it while in his man cave/bedroom...the smell seems to permeate everything he wears. I personally recommend you do your repair in an open and airy place and let it dry.

Shoe Goo is the bomb.

I found this stuff about 6 months ago. Used it to fix some old roller skates, then some shoes, then the ping pong table, then for everything I could find that needs adhesive. My favorite glue ever, nothing else is close. I use index cards too work it. It's gooey at first as name implies. Takes about ten minutes to initially set, then about 8-12 hours to dry all the way. Got one of my buddies hooked on it too. He's using it on his Sailboat. Will give it as christmas presents.
