Gates are good, install is not easy

Overall these have worked pretty well. They are fairly easy to open and close, even when holding a baby. They stay locked and closed and they keep our son from going up and down the stairs. My biggest complain about these was the install. Yes no measuring was required and the template was great but aligning the gates evenly on each side without leaving a gap at the bottom, was quite the task! I had to reposition it several times and we still have a small gap at the top of our stairs. My other complain is that it was missing a few screws, but that I had extra at home so it was not a big deal. The install took me about 90 minutes for each one and would have been less if I did not have to go searching for screws. Overall we are pleased with the gates and hopefully they will continue work well as our son grows. I will update this as time goes by

Best gate purchase by far -says this mom of 5!! We have one at the bottom of the stairs, one at the top, another at the entry into the game/play room. Withstands 2 y/o twins, teens, dogs and cats alike. Easy to open, but not too easy where the little ones can. Easy to close as well; which the little ones have figured out and do help with. If you have high. Baseboards, a small animal... or determined one.... may slip in the gap under, but so far the only gate I feel 100% secure with installed for stairs.

Works great and was probably the best option for my application. The included hardware wasn't great. I needed to use longer screws to get purchase into the studs when mounting. I also needed to modify the foot, since it did not have enough adjustment when mounted high enough to clear my baseboard. This thing feels like it is a little fragile, but has held up to keeping out a very determined 50lb puppy for close to a month now, so it's off to a relatively good start. Took about an hour to install, and I was really lucky that the studs lined up with where I wanted to put this. I wouldn't trust it with drywall anchors, especially not the included ones.
A small price to pay for peace of mind!

This is a wonderful gate. We babysit our grandson a couple days a week so don't need a "full time" gate. This gate can be easily lifted off the wall brackets if you choose not to have it on the wall 24/7. It swings out of the way effortlessly, so wouldn't be a problem to leave it on the wall either. The gate was such a good idea that I ordered another one for my daughter who also babysits him. A small price to pay for peace of mind of not having an accident on the stairs.

I was skeptical because of the low price and some of the negative reviews but I love this gate and so does everyone that comes over! I have had to send this link to multiple people because they want one in their home. I have two large dogs and a 14 month old. This gate keeps them where I want them. It's also easy to go through with one hand while holding baby in other arm.
When the gate is open, it swings out of the way and leaves the opening wide WITHOUT any bottom rail to trip over! That is one of my biggest complaints from other gates we have tried!
Installation was the only negative. My husband said the directions are not clear and there were a couple extra pieces that weren't even mentioned in the directions. I heard quite a lot of swearing during installation so I think they need to improve the instructions. Once it is up though, it's worth the effort.
