After using Jergens tanning lotion for years, I finally decided to try something else in the hopes it would give me a more believable (cough, less orange) tan. This stuff is amazing, I love it so much. A little goes a long way, so don't go overboard your first time, and remember to wash your hands afterwards, because this tanner will seriously stain the palms of your hands and your fingernails. Thankfully it fades away in about 5-6 days so you won't be looking ridiculous for too long.

It feels kinda like rubbing sunblock into your skin (smells like it too) as opposed to putting on body lotion, and I usually notice results within 6 hours or so. It's more evident the next day.

And lastly, it WILL stain light coloured fabrics if you touch them before you 'dry off', so it's probably best if you can devote about 30 minutes to being naked and not touching your clothes/bedsheets/white towels.

This is the best self-tanner I've ever used. And I love that it rates the least toxic on the EWG website, which is how I discovered it. Here are the things I like about it:

1) It's thick and goes on slightly white, so you can see where you've put it--then rub it in. I love that it's not brown colored--since then you have to worry about staining your clothes/sheets.
2) It has a really nice light coconut/vanilla scent. It will turn to that typical self tanner scent after a couple hours until you wash it off. This is unavoidable, since it's the DHA that is interacting with your skin that is making that smell. But I've found it's not as strong a smell as some self tanners I've used.
3) The bronze color is very natural looking. I am very fair, and it looks really good. I actually look naturally tan with this stuff. Of course, you have to watch for ankles, hands, wrists, etc. And I haven't tried it on my face, since I use Retin A, so it would probably just get exfoliated off and look weird. Instead, I use a bronzing powder on my face. Also, my trick is to put some coconut oil on my ankles, feet, knees, elbows, underarms and hands first and then apply the self tanner. AND I also reapply the next day to get the best, most even tan. It lasts for about 4-5 days before looking a bit blotchy and faded.
4) I like that I can put it on at night and sleep with it and my sheets don't get all stained.

Things I don't like:
1) It's a bit greasy feeling-especially right after you put it on and it takes a bit to "dry".
2) The self-tanner smell--but there's nothing you can do to avoid that...since anything with DHA will do that. My boyfriend said it's not that noticeable, so that's good!

I wish I could put 4.5 stars. I'm only taking one away because it still has a self tan smell while processing but not too strong.
It is a thicker formula so a little goes a long way! I don't use a glove or mit and I can do my entire body then wash my hands at the end and no color is left on my hands! It's not streaky but still has the same problems all tanning products have and that's all based on how you apply. It lasts for a LONG time too. I take a shower everyday and several twice a day. I only apply this one night a week. My favorite so far!
Another tip...I rub a little lotion on my feet, knees, elbows and hands then apply. I also have a big sponge I go over difficult areas with just to make sure I get rid of build up!

Love it. I can't have too much sun exposure for health reasons and I found this product to be the perfect sunless tanner. Better and faster than Jergins by far (and better ingredients, too).

Follow the directions on the bottle with a mitt and there should be no problems. For me, the tan did show up after about 4 hours. I put it on in the morning, and did 1 more later before bed and the tan lasted a little over a week. The hands and wrists can be tricky, but after a little practice I got them seamless (it's hard!)

My friends and coworkers have all given compliments on how nice it looks and could not believe it was from lotion. 5 stars for delivering what's advertised.

I have waivered back and forth on my review. Within the first 6 hours of application, my skin was soft and started turning a golden brown. The second day, I noticed an orange tint to my skin, so I left an unfavorable review. Beauty by Earth customer satisfaction manager refunded the entire amount of the product, which speaks volumes about their business ethics. By the 4th day, my skin turned back to a nice, golden brown. I am very pale in complexion, so I'm not terribly surprised by the reaction of the product. I am now overall satisfied with the product, but I'm tremendously grateful to come across a proprietor with such care for their customers. I will likely purchase again!
