Amazon Basics have products that are truly in the middle; they are not bad and certainly are not great. I have tested it on my computer and speakers, it works as advertised and the sound quality is middling. The cable is feeble. But hey it is less than ten dollars. Would I buy it again? Yes absolutely. However, if you are an audiophile, it is not for you.

I read some of the other reviews here about this product and ordered this digital, optical, cable mainly because it had mostly 5-star reviews and because it's not expensive. It does the job. As to "fit," it depends on what you are plugging into. I suspect any issues in that regard are due more to the device the cord is plugged into than the cord itself. In my case, the fit into my sound box is not as secure as I'd prefer. I sense it might easily be dislodged, if bumped or moved. However, the other end fits (with a "snap") into the cable provider box. So, ... I cannot say for sure that it's the manufacturer's fault the connection isn't as solid as I might want. I suspect some TV manufacturers don't spend as much money as others on that feature. I'm no audiophile but the sound is fine to my ears. At this point, (early on) I can't complain.
